Home game field gets an F? As in Lumen??
Just the playing surface. It was a player survey. They don't care much about what the fans think of the facilities. They're just glad they show up.

I had always heard good things from players as well, but if it's specifically about the turf than that makes sense. Need to fix that then.

Its having grass over the field turf for the world cup then after that the field turf is getting replaced before the start of the season.

Ive heard the weight room was already being upgraded.

I saw a video on YouTube regarding the Atlanta Falcons upgraded training facilities. It is head and shoulders above what we currently have at the Vmac especially the locker room and weight training room.

I’m confused by all the dumping on our weight room. Other than size, and iPads for measuring velocity and bar path, what does Atlanta have on us?

Same Sorinex full cage racks. Same quality plates. iPads can be added for cheap. Similar cardio and dumbbell areas. It looks like the Hawks use and elevated platform, and the Falcons don’t. That’s a preference thing.

We didn’t get a good look at the Falcons machines. From what I’ve seen, Hawks could use a little upgrade there, maybe.

Is it just a size thing?

I've also heard that from some other websites but the stadium has its own website which says the field turf is being removed. It goes on to say that a grass pitch, (field), will be laid and allowed to grow/mature before the World Cup. Basically the grass pitch won't be over the top of the original field turf. I don't know, but it's hard to imagine the original field turf being relaid - as was. The stadium site wasn't clear about what would happen after the World Cup.

I’ve always been told size doesn’t matter.

The artificial turf was graded F. The turf is going to be replaced with natural grass for the World Cup matches. I don't know what surface will be in place for the preseason and beyond. I'm sure it won't be 'soccer' grass which tends to be a bit slippery.
Is that why all those soccer guys are always falling down?

Soccer flopping makes lebron look like a tough guy.

Laughing at some of the 'soccer' flops is perfectly legitimate. 60 years ago the game and the rules favoured very physical players who were very durable. Nowadays it favours athletes with speed, agility, and stamina. If you don't flop the referee likely won't give the foul. Just remember that some of the players are under 120 lbs and all of the players wear ultra-thin boots that weigh less than a pair of socks. If you get someone's studs on your feet or in the back of your ankle you'll know all about it. Durability is a trait that detracts from your other overall physical traits. It's like comparing carthorses to racehorses. The NFL is moving in much the same direction.

With all the greenery in Seattle, I would think that maintaining a grass field would be easy! And much easier on the players bodies!

I heard Dave Wyman talk about playing on the kingdome cement.

Grass is easy to grow. Keeping it from turning into a muddy mess with a bunch of 300 pounders running around in cleats on it is a bit of a task. ;)
