We wore those throwbacks under Chuck Knox and did a bit of winning, including some playoff appearances, the first in team history. The 80's were pretty decent, the 90's is what you're talking about, pre-Holmie. The real Curt Warner wore those to great effect. :)
I was a kid then but we have had season tickets since 76 and I all remember was going to most games for decades and I can't recall ever seeing us win a game. Maybe my trauma is much deeper than I thought but for me those jerseys and losing are synonymous. I'm totally fine with keeping the throwbacks as just that, a throwback. If they use the throwback style but the modern logo and use the navy blue color instead of the old school blue and very minimal green I could get behind that. But I like what we have now.

I didn't vote because my vote is "no, but they should change"

I'm with the others who think we should go back to the retro unis. If they just adopted this year's throwback as the primary, we'd instantly have the best uni in pro sports. I'm one of the few who prefers the original logo over the new one (I like that it honors the Native art more exactly) but I know that I'm in the extreme minority, so the throwback with the modern logo would be perfectly fine with me if that's what it took to get the change to happen.

I'm kind of amused by the fact that 4 of you have told me to don't bother me with your petty uniform problems.

I just wanted to be the first to start an off-season uniform thread. :)

I still can't believe they didn't do it with the popularity of the throwback and the new coach coming in. It was the perfect time to start a new era. Maybe you can't and have to give a long notice? Either way our current uni's are a little dated and boring even though I like them.

It’s hard to say if the team will tweak the uniforms this year. If they do, I suspect it will be a bridge uniform that marries the retros with the current. I would totally be down with that and for sure get a new jersey if and when the time comes.

There was enough smoke about it online to suggest there’s something to it. I think that would be the best route to take.

For the record, I still love our uniforms and think they are among the best in the league. Our retros ARE the best in the league hands down.

We wore the Holmgren era unis in Pete's first year. (It's always weird seeing Marshawn in that uniform in the beast quake highlights). Anyway, maybe we will change it up during Mike's second season as well.

It takes a while for the team to coordinate with the league on any uni changes and maybe they wanted Mac's input on any new unis design.

The 12's have spoken: retros it is!

Now back to your regularly scheduled Geno Smith debates.

I can totally see how the throwbacks can conjure up completely different feelings based on a birth year difference of just a few years.

The 1990’s were the absolute nadir of Seahawks football. If you were born in say 1985 or later, you have a vivid recollection only losing in those unis.

Just a few years earlier though, some pretty fun memories of those 80’s teams. MNF rocking, Largent going through records like a a wet paper bag, the wave, Bill the Beer man, the Curt Warner/JLW backfield. The Sea….Hawks chant.

And we were pretty good too. 4 Playoff appearances. 3 Playoff wins. 1 Divisional title. 1 AFCCG game.

I still lament (excuse me while I grab a tissue) 1986. I know I’m a homer and it sounds silly to say a team that didn’t make the playoffs would have won it all, but we would have. We had that end of 2012 feel to us. We were beating good teams handily. We ended the season on a five game win streak and were the best team in football.

Unfortunately, we had

I am sorry but I no longer like the current uniform and hate the lime.
I associate the current uniform with Pete's era, it's over and time to
change into the Mac era.
A modified retro is great and create a totally new alternate that could
change into a regular down the road.

I love the throwbacks. And, though we've worn them a while, I still like the current unis (though I hate the green variants.) I've seen fusions of the old colors (including silver helmets) with the current design that look pretty awesome. I think there's even a pick floating around on .net.

Being said, I wouldn't mind something fresh but I'd be apprehensive they'd screw it up ... that we'd end up with something awful/bland like Denver's new threads. I think so many teams subject artistic genius to focus groups and fan opinion and all kinds of things that really shouldn't be involved in the process.

If they change to anything past the current/retro fusion, I'd want something radical that that at first glance drew a few "WTFs?" And then as time passed they'd grow on you until you realized you had a timeless classic. Pretty much exactly what we got last time. Can they catch lightening a second time?

Here's some concepts I found online. Don't kill the messenger now, I am just presenting them for discussion.

At the game in Dallas in 2023, quite a few Cowboy fans were complimentary about our throwbacks. I just kept saying that I wish they'd go back to them full time and no one disagreed.
