More like we traded away Geno and DK and got Darnold, Kupp, Emmanwori and cap room. That's a win in my book!

You never know, but based on the fact that many thought he would be taken in the 1st round, and as high as the middle of the 1st, probably.

Lots of real estate between 35 and 50. He would have been long gone.

We have enough picks where we can afford to spend some picks to get a player they really want. I have no problem with it even if he would have been available later. Not worth the risk.

He was the 25th ranked prospect so the likelihood of him making it into the 40’s let alone 50’s was unlikely. Plus he was the best safety in the draft so the drop off to the next best seems significant
