Too rich for for the Hawks.

What are the Niners going to do with Crabs?

They've been planning on just letting him walk for a long time.

Telling too is that he's not quite burning up the FA market, to say the least.

Very telling.
Smith is a very good signing IMO.

^^^^ yeah, I like the signing MUCH more after seeing the actual details of the contract. It's a MUCH different deal than what it looks like just from the raw numbers:

The newest San Francisco 49ers WR reached an agreement of five-years, $40 million on Tuesday afternoon. However, his cap hit has a reasonably low $3.6 million in the first year of the deal for 2015, according to Joel Corry.

Smith is guaranteed an $8 million signing bonus and will have $750,000 in base salary for 2015. His $22 million in guaranteed money is only guaranteed for injury, or if he is on the roster by April 1 for both the 2016 and 2017 calendar years. The base salary totals for 2016 and 2017 are $4.5 million and $6.5, respectively.

TBF I don't think it will matter much (the 9ers inability to secure talent at the coordinators spots renders it all moot, IMO) but in principle I like it at least.
