I hate the term 'Meh'. But that's about all I can muster regarding Tarvaris Jackson.

I had to post a reply to this topic because I was a tjack basher and I wish I could take it all back. This guy is a true hawk and genuine team player. Heres to hoping he gets a ring with the hawks this year. I admit my 2011 stupidity.

I really like TJ. He played hard. I can separate him playing hard from him not reading the field well. He didn't go out there are give only partial effort at any time that he suited up for us.

As a bonus, he really seems happy to be here, which is of course endearing.

I was one of the "bashers". We didnt win enough games and there were no signs of promise from him. He had one of the worst progression reads in the NFL. ( I know, maybe Tebow). I never thought anything bad about him personally. And really, like this site does not criticize players.

Honestly though, this love-fest with TJ is annoying. If it was up to Tavaris fans,,,,he'd be an all pro and pro bowler regardless of his play. These are not political elections,,, results matter.

Many here were labeled as "racist" because we criticized TJ's performance. Ok, he's not the worst we've had. Fine, I would take Tavaris over Rick Mirer, or ummm Stan Gelbauh. GREAT, but let me be the first to say,,,, WHO GIVE A S**T that he's back.

I didnt realize how many people here dont actually watch football and instead just read headlines to get their fix.

Saying TJack is a third string QB just shows the amount of unknowledgable "fans" we have here. And yes, I quoted fans, because a true fan would learn more about the sport he watches. Or says he does.

Couldn't agree more. There isn't another single topic where all i need to do is read a fan's take on it & I can immediately gauge their level of football knowledge.

I'm not telling people they have to like TJack as a qb or anything. But the fans who go way of of their way to hate on the guy and who act as if he's the worst thing ever? They might as well hang an "I don't really know what I'm talking about" sign around their neck.

The thing I like about TJack is that he is an infinitely better QB than a few people here are at being classy or even knowledgeable about anything at all. Maybe some of you turkeys could learn something from Tarvaris about humility and respect. He shows both and he works at being a QB. His meaning to the team is important. You don't get it? Fine. No need to say the guy sucks. He won more games in his one season as a starter than Matt did in his last season as a starter.

I guess half of the head coaches in the league do not know football as they don't want him either. I think we could do way better for a backup QB.

What are you even talking about? How do you know who they want? TJack hasnt spent more then a few days on the open market ever. So where do you read that half the coaches dont want him? You have dont have to make stuff up around here to sound cool.

Not trying to be anything just my opinion that he is not a good QB, he can be the best person in the world but if he is not a good QB than he should not be on the team. Buffalo did not want him, Minny took a washed up old man over him. If he is our backup up than I really hope RW does not miss any time. When Buffalo released him I did not hear any other team that wanted him.

Toronto.... go through the backup 2/3 string QB's in the NFC and tell us which ones are better. I'd like to know who is better in the division itself also. Look at statistics to show that "he sucks" when compared to other backups in the 2/3 battle on other teams within the NFC west and point out why TJack "sucks" and please also let us all know who was available to us that is superior to TJack. I'm genuinely interested. If you have some background info, such as stating all of the teams that "passed" on him, then I'd love to read it. Thanks.

You should analyze career victories, completion percentage, fumbles (meaning... does the guy take care of the ball?), INT's (again... backups should be on the positive in + - first and foremost since it is their job to manage the game), you might also want to look at rushing yards and TD's since we like to move the QB and also will need to score if our backup is playing extended time.

hahaha. Cause we grabbed him instantly #1. Because he is a backup QB, and people arent going to be probing teams about him #2. Because Buffalo DID reup his contract before drafting EJ Manuel, and then with that acquisition, decided they didnt need to need to hold on to him.

But please, tell me again how a QB with a pectoral injury took a team to 7-9, but is no better then a 3RD STRING QB. Behind the likes of Gabbert, Sanchez, Henne, Locker, Ponder. And please, please please please, tell me you would take anyone of those guys before TJack. Tell me that. I have got to read those words. Tell me how much better Ponder is. Please lordy, oh please let me read those words.

Really, I don't have time to go into all that come on man, if you really think 7-9 is a good record for a QB than he is your man. Name one player that is not hurt during the year. Saying he sucks is harsh I admit and is not a good word to use. I think Kirk Cousins Chade Henne are decent backups but I will get shot down as I am not on the TJACK bandwagon.

Dude, its ok not to know much about this. No one is bashing on your because you dont love TJack. Theyre bashing you because you called a .500 qb a third string at best. You do know that you want a .500 qb as your back up. Thats universally accepted. Theyre bashing on you because you would rather have Henne. Which completely goes against your W-L philosophy that is somehow your definer for QB's. Kirk Cousins has minimal amount of work to even be considered in the conversation.

Any back up qb looks great the first time they play because other teams have zero study material on them. See Charlie Whitehurst. See Matt Flynn.

And honestly. Henne? Chad F'n Henne. Over TJack. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Don't bother with him. The only time he shows up is to bash Tjack. I honestly don't remember him posting in any orher threads about a different topic. I kind of think he is Whitehurst.
