You don't think that maybe they looked at his body of work, how he looked in practice, and determined that going 6 of 8 in 2 games was maybe an aberration? Tebow stunk up the joint in Denver. 8 passes isn't going to convince anyone he was suddenly good.

He also WAS NOT THE STARTER. He took the first snap of the game in the 1st and 3rd games of the season because they were running trick plays to start the game, in fact 1 of those starts wasn't even a QB start, Mark Sanchez started 15 games that season. He threw ZERO passes in both of his starts. His 8 passes came in trick plays in other games. The Jets used him as a wildcat QB almost exclusively that season.

The whole premise of the argument is false in the beginning. He's claiming that Tebow lost his starting job after going 6 for 8. When in fact Tebow was the backup to Mark Sanchez from the beginning. He "started" 2 games by being in for the 1st play of those 2 games as a gimmick wildcat QB. So, no, Tebow didn't "lose" the starter gig, he never had it.

Furthermore, 5 of his completions went for a total of 16 yards. The other 1 completion for 23 yards was on a fake punt thrown to a wide open receiver that was caught 5 yards down field. So he had 39 yards on 6 passes that were all caught within 5 yards of the LOS, mostly on trick plays. So his 75% passing is a little bit inflated by dumpoff passes.

He didn't rock. An 8 pass sample size shows absolutely nothing, and his Y/A on those 8 passes was 4.9, which is a horrendous figure that is beaten by some running backs on rushes.

Why don't we change the comparison to a more accurate one.

Let's say Fields sucks dick for Chicago, he's an absolute dumpster fire for 2 years. Chicago cuts him. He goes to another team that uses him as a gimmick wildcat player, never starts a game at QB for them, but throws 8 passes throughout the season and completes 6 of them. The team decides not to bring him back the next year. No that's not racist and nobody will think it's racist.

Now if Fields actually starts a game, goes 6 for 8 and the team pulled him mid game for no reason, MAYBE that would be racist. But that's not what happened with Tebow. He was never "pulled' for anyone. Mark Sanchez was the starter all along, Tebow was a gimmick player that only came in to run the stupid wildcat formation that was largely a failure for the Jets, they decided to move on from that gimmick.
