I am in awe of how well Pete has this young, young team so incredibly focused and poised. Re-watching the game on my DVR yesterday, I was struck with how focused the players looked on the sideline when the game was no longer in doubt. You would have sworn the score was flip-flopped. No juvenile displays of "Suck it!" going on...Taunting the fans in the stands, laughing with each other...Nope. They sat on the benches with a look of determination and focus that could only suggest "On to Atlanta."

I've never in my life seen anything like it from the youngest team in the NFL.

The best part about this team is that they are beginning to take on the collective personality of #3.

So this is what it feels like to win the lotto.

Man, well said. It does feel like we've won the lottery. I just can't express how great it feels to have a team that is great (not good). You get tired of watching teams like GB and New England with long running success. No we have ours and it feels awesome!

Considering this was the biggest knock on our team at the beginning season (and I was one of the people who said our youth was working against us), it's great to see that they've matured as they begin to more fully understand the game and what it takes to be champions. Please, don't let it end.

You "nailed it".....Russell has made all the difference in the world to this team! He has the maturity of a player ten years his senior. Did we win the Lottery.....sure feels like it!

Even a couple a of the national analysts said the same thing. They don't remember ever seeing a young team like this not be phased by a 14 pt first quarter deficit like the Hawks on Sunday.

Most teams, let alone one of youngest teams in playoff history would have imploded and lost 45-10. That kind of adversity can only make us stronger going forward.

As good (and getting better) as Wilson's physical abilities have been, it's his leadership by example, confidence, focus and belief in self that has started to rub off on many of the other players. The other players have been sitting back watching this kid do his thing and since the Chicago game, they have almost completely bought in to the fact that he's their leader and if they follow his examples, winning games and winning seasons (and Super Bowls) will soon follow.

Seattle is truely blessed to have the positions of QB and team leader established this year and wins will be much more prolific and exciting for years to come. The off season of preparations for next year should be very, very fun to watch. What an exciting team the Seahawks have become in such a short amount of time. National recognition, praise & respect is on the way, winning a lot of games will accomplish that.

Honest to God, every word is exactly correct.

My favorites of Pete's quotes from his pressers this year are: "we're young, we're fast and we're tough"
That doesn't quite trump, for me, his discussion of Breno Giacomini: "Breno's a bad dude, man".
Every facet of this young, fast and tough (could add smart) team just impresses the hell out of me.

My biggest fear is that Russell will be beamed back up to wherever he came from and the search will
begin again. The poise you spoke of does, indeed, seem transferable to other players. The Redskins
game was probably the best indicator of all this past year's games of poise, calm and a job to do.

Love pete, love Pete, but for me Jon Schneider is the man. Who in the NFL has had drafts to match?

These are my truths but the TRUTH has little to do with being believed.

I agree that the team looks poised and focused but this team is nothing like Russell Wilson. I don't mean in a bad way but the rest of this team plays nasty, trash talk, jawing all of that. I think Wilson provides sort of the yin to the that yang though with his calm and confident demeanor.

He and Pete never panic and I think the rest of the team has adopted the same attitude.

Could have sworn I saw some of the D jawing with Skins fans late in the 4th quarter.

But yeah, love how they didn't get down when the Skins had a 14 point lead.
You did(Irvin, Jeron Johnson), but then another player had them end that.

I heard Dilfer tday talking about how the rest of the team is adopting our quarterback's next play mentality. On the touchdown to Robinson, our QB didn't celebrate, fist pump, or jump around. The job wasn't done yet. On the Marshawn fumble, no big scene. Just, NEXT PLAY.

And that's exactly how you win games in the NFL.

I'm sure there were a couple out of a 53-man roster but the point I was making is that the collective, general nature of this team is beginning to adapt #3's aura.

Poised. Focused.

Also:

Synergy: the interaction of elements that when combined produce a total effect that is greater than the sum of the individual elements, contributions, etc.

Gestalt: a configuration, pattern, or organized field having specific properties that cannot be derived from the summation of its component parts; a unified whole.
