Are you in? I really like our chances.

First off. Do you think Russ is going to allow a losing season? Hell no. He doesn't want one on the stat sheet. So we already know for a fact that this team will win out the season. And if they do that, odds are they make the playoffs.

From there, the defense starts to click, and so does the offensive line. The ghost of Vince Lombardi visits each offensive lineman during their dreams, and coaches them up like nobody else could eve do. I'm pretty sure this will happen.

Not only that, but we have Pete Carroll. He knows what he's doing. Him and Russ are just the best together. They got this. I trust Paul Allen's trust in him.

Is this" tongue in cheek " or tongue in someone's ass ? Homers are kinky...anything goes... :D

4-8 and people are talking playoffs and the Super Bowl. LOLOL. This place never disappoints.

The 49ers are responsible for that, I'm sorry.

I'm not sure how they calculate the odds, but according to this, we have a 3% chance of making the playoffs, about the same as it was before our win last week vs. the Niners:

There's only two teams in the NFC, the Bears and the Lions, that have worse odds than we do. And since we have both of those teams on our remaining schedule, beating them isn't going to help us leap frog the teams ahead of us. We're going to need help...a lot of help.

We've already lost to the Vikings and Saints, so they both own tiebreakers, plus 2 of our 4 wins are against AFC teams with a 3rd AFC team, the Texans, left on our slate.

Good points. That WFT loss was brutal. Had they won that game, their chances look much better. At it sits the Seahawks only win tiebreakers against the 49ers in the NFC. They have the 2nd worst conference record at 2-6.

Seahawks run the table from here, including Superb Owl? I'M IN!!
Until the next loss, that is. Then I'm jumping off instantly.

All the Hawks have to do is win 9 games in a row... one at a time.
First we have to win 5 in a row to make the playoffs, and get some help. After that, a measly 4-game win streak would get the job done.

What everyone fails to realize is the SF game was about Russell finally committing to the Waldron offense, so that now he can carry the team. It was about a healthy Penny taking that next step to becoming an elite back, while Homer becomes a short-yardage specialist. I mean, that screen pass to Penny and the way Penny ran it, 27 yards I think, Homer gained a first on a 4th down run, could there be any clearer of a sign, a screen pass that worked, that the Hawks are now a team of DESTINY? I mean, they even put Stone Forsythe in. How much clearer do Pete and Russell need to make it for you? It's only 9 wins, people! One win at a time. The Hawks have done it before. I think. 2005 and 2013. I think we had a 6-bagger streak last season.

Look. There's a Kurt Warner holiday special movie coming up. Russell realizes this. The whole season has been a setup for Russ's future movie about his unlikely SB champion season where he carried the team. It's gonna be movie-worthy. So just sit back and enjoy the ride!!

P.S. Don't forget to get down to Vegas and put $1000 on the Hawks for the Lombardi. Faint heart never won fair lady.

So there.

Really, Penny is the key to the whole resurgence. He'll have a dream where Walter Payton, Billy Sims and Jim Brown all come to him and convince him to eat Earl Campbell's hot-link sausages 3x a day. After that he averages 200 yards and 2 TDs (per game...not per season or per career).

I had forgotten about the WFT loss. They would have to catch the Cowboys and win the NFC East in order to negate the tiebreaker. The other teams, Saints and Vikings, are 3 games behind their division leaders.

We have a 2-6 conference record. The only other teams in the NFC with 6 or more conference losses are the Lions and Falcons. Even the Bears have a better conference record than we do.

Nah, no playoffs this year. But they can still finish strong and ruin some other team's dreams.

Not enough to float my boat. It'd be about as exciting as getting a gag gift at the office Christmas party.

To each his/her own. I want them to finish strong. And no, I'm not satisfied at all. But they are still fighting, so I hope to see a lot more of it to finish the season. Shoot, they're not making playoffs. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy the rest of the season. And playing spoiler, that's going to feel strange being on the other side of that.

Perhaps I'm spoiled, but after the final nail is driven in the coffin, I'll become quite a bit less passionate. I'll still watch it and root for us to win as I consider myself a diehard, but it'll be more of a curiosity than a highlight of the week, plan your day around it event like it has been in the past.

Can? Yeah I guess if the Hawks win out, somehow are able to win 3 playoff games on the road in a row (when they've never been able to do even 2) to get to said Superbowl...by that time they would ideally be one of the hottest teams in football. And who knows maybe some other teams start falling off or have key injuries which plays in the Hawks favor (because this is what it would take)

That being said..Arizona has already beaten the Hawks with their back up QB and no Hopkins. As much as we all loved the win we saw on Sunday, there were still issues that in general it's too late for a team to fix in a season that would make a team lose in the playoffs (if it this team even got there).

I don't believe this team is making the SB or even the playoffs this year. The hole dug earlier in the season was too large and the team started coming together too late. Sunday will be the highlight of the season to me and it was a wonderful highlight. I expect our Hawks to be mathematically eliminated after the Rams game, the Rams still have plenty to play for, are starting to come back from their skid, have always had the Hawks number and the game is at Sofi. And I hate even writing that because it's looking past the Texans like an easy win, which is no such thing in the NFL especially not for a team that has been as inconsistent as the Hawks this season.

You know…if this were to happen, it would be the craziest ride ever in the NFL. Russ and Pete haters (I fall into the latter) would have to eternally STFU.

I’m ok with that.

Let’s do it!!

Now come on. Let's be realistic. Penny is not Sweetness. He's not Jim Brown. He's not Barry Sanders. Not Eric Dickerson. Perhaps Curtis Martin. OK, peak Chris Warren.

For me If they can somehow manage to win out, which to you guys seems unrealistic, i understand that but it's not like the Hawks haven't done it before and it's not like Russ isn't capable of doing it and it's not like Carroll isn't capable of doing it.

Russ is starting to warm up, the D is improving every week. we know there is no quit in this team just listen to the leadership in the locker room guys like Lockett and Wagner.

like you said Hawks have a 3 % chance of successthey are two out... losing tie breakers to the Saints, the Vikings and WFT winning a tie breaker with the Niners... wouldn't that be fun!!! win a tie breaker against the niners who have LA the last game of the season... and the drama continues LOL. I love it!!

The numbers can't go much lower, but with the Vikings winning last night, our playoff odds took another hit last night. With 4 games left on their schedule, they essentially have a 2 game lead on us.

YET, my man; the key term is YET.

Just like the OP's visions, it's going to happen!
