I will take complete ownership for Spygate. They most definetly taped the Jets defensive coordinators from the field instead of from the stands like everyone else. If you think that makes an iota of difference in a football game you should find another sport to follow. Check what any coach, not named senile overrated Shula, has to say. Even Eric Mangina, who started the whole thing .

As with deflate-gate, if it doesn't make a difference then why did Belichick do it?

Coaches already work 100 hours a week, they're not going to waste time taping other team's practices unless they think they can get some sort of competitive advantage out of it.

Not hypocritical at all. My only point is that evry team tries to get away with absolutely as much as they can. It's just that because of success the Pats are in the spotlight.

I haven't heard a squeak about the Browns being fined for using cell phones during the game. During the game. Don't you think that has more of an effect than taping defensive signals that everyone in the stadium can see.

I'd say this is about 50% of the backlash on the Pats, the other 50% is since you were busted for Spygate, there's a lot of people, myself included that don't believe you this time.

This all heightens the vitriol for the Patriots, and it doesn't help that your coach and QB are on TV acting like they just picked up a football for the first time.

See, the public is smart, and we're forgiving..........but that forgiveness only comes when we see a player, coach or owner genuinely showing remorse and being contrite. It's like steriods, there's a reason everyone hates Bonds and A-fraud and is OK with guys like Andy Pettitte. Pettitte admitted it, said he was sorry, acted contrite, so we're cool with that.

So does everyone hate the Pats cause they're jealous of all the winning? Sort of, but it's more the aww shucks we didn't know, we still don't know.........that's all BS and we can see right through it. Thus the hate is amplified.

Proof doesn't sway the publics perception when they're sick of a team handing their team their asses every season. If the pats we're an 5-11 team nobody would care. It comes down to this, a good team that bends the rules will be hated and labelled as complete cheaters, who can only win by cheating all the time. A bad team, it doesn't matter.

And if the Seahawks win another superbowl, rival fans will accuse your team of being drug cheats etc... There already a lot of other fans who don't like the hawks, it's just they hate the pats more. If the hawks become a dynasty, the hatred will go up.
