Have you guys noticed this?

2016: Panthers beat Seahawks in Divisional Round. Makes Super Bowl, loses to Broncos.

2017: Falcons beat Seahawks in Divisional Round. Makes Super Bowl, chokes to Patriots.

2017 in December: Eagles lose to Seahawks in Primetime regular season game. Makes Super Bowl, wins Super Bowl.

2018 in December: Chiefs lose to Seahawks in Primetime regular season game. Will they make the Super Bowl? And IF whichever NFC team beats Seahawks in playoffs, will that team make the Super Bowl?

They also beat the Patriots during the 2016 season.

Last two seasons we've beaten the SB champ in the regular season. If that holds then the best bet is the Chiefs since the other main contenders didn't play us or beat us.

Seattle beat the Falcons in 2016 (the Julio controversial no PI call to lose the game) and the Patriots. Both teams went to the Super Bowl that year.

Time machine...

In 2011, the Seahawks beat the NY Giants, ON THE ROAD, in October. Yes, THAT Giants team, the one that made the Patriots the best 18-0 team never to win the Super Bowl. This was on Brandon Browner's 90-yard pick-6 late in the game.

In 2011, the Seahawks also beat the 12-4 Baltimore Ravens, who would go on to win the NEXT year's Super Bowl, over the 49ers.

So that same Pete Carroll team Seahawks team beat the next two Super Bowl champions.

That was a pre-Russell Wilson Pete Carroll team. Those two games, that season, especially the Ravens game, were the Seahawks serving notice that they were no longer going to be the "soft", finesse teams of the pre-Carroll era that would fold whenever the bully teams punched them in the mouth, and instead would be punching back. Or, just as often, be throwing the first punch.

Bear with me on this one... not dealing well with bullies... anyone remember the old days in the AFC West, after the Chuck Knox and Dave Krieg days, early-thru-mid-90's, when we would play the KC Chiefs at Arrowhead stadium each year? We'd go into KC, and the physical KC O-Line would absolutely *bulldoze* our undersized defense, and the Chiefs would beat us up and steal our lunch money. Well, our defense back then may have been undersized, but at least it was slow, to make up the lack of size. Things got a little better when Holmgren came on board, but still, the "finesse" label was applied.

I'm hoping the big screen in Atlanta is playing highlights from the KC game and the SuperBowl is a rematch.
