Yes having Darnold completely functional and playing the whole game is ideal. But how much of a drop off is it to Lock really? Yes I think Darnold is better, but Lock is not that much of a drop off.
He has every bit the arm talent as Darnold. Lock is the better scrambler. And he is a wiley ole veteran at this point that knows this offense in and out. The fact that he took all the reps last two days makes me feel even better about it should we need him.
The only downside to Lock is, he turns the ball over. If memory serves me correctly, thats Darnolds downside as well isn't it?
I hope Darnold's a full go, but I'm not panicking if we have to go to Lock.
