So besides the game itself, the rain delay had better ratings then anything else this last week. Including both MNF games and the popular 60 minutes.

1. NFL Football: San Francisco at Seattle, NBC, 20.54 million.

2. "Football Rain Delay," NBC, 17.84 million.

3. NFL Football: Philadelphia at Washington, ESPN, 16.52 million.

4. "Sunday Night NFL Pre-Kick," NBC, 15.22 million.

5. "60 Minutes," CBS, 12.45 million.

6. "Football Night in America," NBC, 11.31 million.

7. NFL Football: Houston at San Diego, ESPN, 10.95 million.

8. "America's Got Talent" (Wednesday), NBC, 10.08 million.

I know SF has a large, nationwide fan base, but this could lead credence to our "cool factor", a growing national fan base, and people that are casual football fans having interest in the Seahawks.

These are right around the averages for both SNF and MNF. SNF is on NBC, which is a broadcast station and more widely available than cable networks like ESPN (home of MNF). The ratings for the SF/SEA game were actually down from the season opener and prior years' averages, but I'm sure some of that is attributable to the rain delay and subsequent late finish.

It's impressive that a rain delay held that much of the audience, though. People love football.

Also, I read somewhere that the highest rated game this week was the "Manning Bowl'. It was ranked higher than Sunday Night football, but non prime time shows aren't counted in the standard ratings

Oh yes...the "manning bowl" ...Where we like to pretend they can go toe to toe and are equals but we ALL KNOW that one is vastly superior to the other

A lot of this has to do with the network. If Monday Night Football was on Fox it would have probably outdrawn SNF, or came close, because of the rain stoppage and how boring the game would have been to someone not invested in either team.

Alot of cowboy fans here in texas said they wanted to watvh 49ers vs Sea because they thought it was going to be one of the best games all year. Unfortunatly the 9ers wanted to prove them wrong
