Pete said post game only thing he did wrong was use the wrong shoulder, they will work on that, it's exactly why they brought him in. I also liked Ugo Amadi game tonight as well. I think the future isn't as dark at Safety as it was beofe this game.

Ugo seemed to play mostly nickel, which was good, because there is a need there, but disappointing because he is a true FS, which we lack.

If a player does not lead with his helmet or hie the opponent in the head, in that case I hate that there is a penalty now on that play.

Thank you for showing this from the Broncos broadcast. I was imagining them claiming he should be ejected. They actually thought it was a solid hit to the chest as well.

Blair was the biggest bright spot last night imo.

I'm fine with the penalty, we desperately need another thumper in the defensive backfield to put the fear of god into WR's.

Last night Thompson and Hill were put on notice, good luck keeping Blair off the field. If he stays healthy the rest of the way he's going to be starting very early in the season, if not by game 1.

I hope not, I would like to see him put on 10 to 15 good pounds if he is going to be our delivery man before anointed to an every down guy, 215 to 225 as a SS is about where he should be, he is listed at 196 right now on the team page.

I think we need to stop comparing and looking for the next Kam. Blair is the perfect size for a traditional two high strong safety, especially with the way he hits............and last year we saw a LOT more two high than one high when Earl went down.

I'm not worried about his size, I'm only worried about his football IQ on when to hit and when to play smart and cover his assignments......which was sometimes a problem for him at Utah, he just wanted to kill people and got out of position.

So as long as he plays smart, I'm just fine with him at SS. Both Thompson and Hill are just dudes to me, they're fine, but they're not special. Blair is special.

Earl did the same stuff as a rookie.

Yep, so much so that Pete almost benched Earl because he wasn't covering his assignments and getting out of position too often.

I'm very excited about Blair, and most of the other rookies for that matter.........but they're still rookies. So any excitement should be tempered, especially when we're seeing these guys play against other guys who are going to be selling cars in a month.

I think it was a garbage call. He hit him in the chest with his shoulder. No head or neck contact. It was a brutal hit.. It seems ANY brutal hit is almost guaranteed a penalty. As Pete said if he used the other shoulder it would have been tough for the refs to call that.. They say defenseless, but how is the safety suppose to know the guy isn't going to get his hands on the ball?

I think Blair was AWESOME! Barton was AWESOME! I'm on the Trey Flowers train as well. I like what I'm seeing from the young defenders.

The more I see of Blair the more pumped I am that we drafted him. Kid is an absolute monster when it comes to hitting. Loved the hit last night and expected a flag as soon as it happened. If the receiver brings that pass in, Blair's timing is perfect and dislodges it. Whether they call defenseless receiver or not, dude's are gonna be hurting after plays like that. We used to see alligator arms from good receivers like Jordy Nelson and D. Thomas after Kam would lay the boom. The Hawks need that presence in the backfield again.

I would love him to gain a few pounds. His lack of weight is gonna become a problem at some point. ET wasn't this reckless at all. There's a difference between hitting random receivers in college and NFL receivers.
