The Jets, what are they doing?

The Jets signed Geno Smith as their starting QB after Smith's disastrous season with the Raiders. Geno was 19TD/17INT with passer rating of 58.2. With 2nd overall pick, the Jets followed with not drafting a QB until the 4th round. As if that wasn't weird enough, the Jets interviewed Russell Wilson for backup QB with Geno's recommendation.

What are the Jet's doing?

They are going to screw around and win 7 games, losing any shot at Manning, Moore or Sayin. I guess they are betting they can land Sorsby late in the draft.

No. The Jets will figure out a way to lose in their attempt at losing, and will probably just miss out on drafting a franchise QB. Meanwhile all the franchise qb draftees will breathe a big sigh of relief.

Trying to lose in order to get a high draft pick is a sure-fire path to glory. Just look at all the Lombardis the Dolts got after Sucking for Luck...

I don't actually think its that bad. I don't think Geno is as bad as his raiders record suggests. He should be an okay stop gap with better weapons and protection than the Raiders had. He's cheap too. There was no QB's worth taking this year. They couldn't get Mendoza and they were smart not to reach for Ty Simpson. Probably has a chip on his shoulder too given what happened last year and in his jets first spell. Not saying he'll be the savior but he'll get them 4-5 wins which is their goal to go all in on the 2027 draft.

I understand it a lot more than what the Cardinals are doing.

To be honest, what QB sitting at #2 overall was worth picking? They know they have 3 firsts next year and 2 seconds or something like that. Building the rest of the team this year to bring in a QB with the #1 pick next year where it's actually a good QB class as of now. If ownership has given Glenn and his staff a long leash then I think they are actually doing it right. The Jets are a mess all around. Don't bring in a QB that's not good and give him no team around him.

Geno was bad last season, very bad. Any couch HC/OC/GM care to chime in on why? I noticed:

1. Raiders' OL was worse than ours, their draft picks weren't ready, vets mostly regressed. Was that an OL coach issue? Are they bad due to Geno holding the ball?
2. Chip Kelly the OC was bad, how did an established coach suddenly lose his marbles?
3. Supporting case issues?

I'm still baffled so many people loved how this guy carried himself it was so cringe to me. I love his redemption arc and will give him full credit for that but man it was so corny after that and people would go bonkers defending this guy. Never was a fan.

How thankful are we that we are lead by JS and Macdonald and not run like the Jets? What a disaster.
