I didn't think much of Houston going into this game, but I've changed my mind. Despite Stroud's tepid offense, their defense makes up for it with a phenomenal pass rush - rather than getting tired, they seem to get energized by squashing Steelers. They tackle players immediately, crushing them in place. And their secondary is very good, but doesn't have to be great - they seldom gave Rodgers time to throw anything but short, worthless passes. Worst thing is - every little annoyance shows on Rodgers' face. That can't sit well with the rest of the team. He's surely done.

I wonder if Houston will be favored against New England? Feels like they should be.

I think Rodgers would have been fine with an O-Line. It was surprising (or a thing of beauty?) watching Houston be effective with a 2-man pass rush. I'm looking forward to seeing how Drake Maye handles it.

One thing I did notice - Rodgers refused to step into the pocket. It's like he was afraid of getting hit and wanted to always have the pass rush in front where he could see it. I haven't watched him much this year, but I don't remember him doing that with Green Bay.

He's old and looks it now. He can definitely still wing the ball, but he needed to be surrounded with weapons and decent protection.

Houston team reminds me a lot of our team.

I was telling my kid this, earlier in the game. Both teams are built for this time of year. I think we have the edge on overall offense, but I think they have a better running game. Defenses are pretty similar. I was commenting on how they swarm just like our defense does, and it looks like the announcers said something similar about ten minutes later. Not sure. I was watching in the bar, and there was closed captioning on one screen. I think I caught them saying that out of the corner of my eye.

Definately a tale of two halves. Pitt should have scored at least two TD (and probably more) off those turnover by Houston. But the Houston D stood up to the task. Second half the Houston O came alive and after 4 turnovers first half terrorized Pitt to win by a tsunami. One of a very low percent of playoff games where negative turnover margin turned into a win.

If they can get past the Patriots, sure. That'll be a good match up to watch.
