Obviously, if we lost Wilson the whole dynamic of our offense changes. But I think we would do pretty good with the new and improved T Jack at the helm.

Here's my list, open to debate:

1. San Francisco: Colt McCoy...really?
2. Denver: Brock "Statue" Osweiler.
3. N.Y. Giants: David Carr.
4. Atlanta. Quick...name Matt Ryan's back-up. Good luck.
5. New England. Tom Brady is holding that franchise up right now.

Honorable Mention: New Orleans, Detroit

Who's the Rams backup?

Do the Cards count? They've played with backups for nearly a decade now.

Put the Bills on there...I feel for them.

I should also point out that a very large % of the NFL can withstand losing their starter because the guy who happens to be their "starter" shouldn't be a starter. :D

The other issue is if the franchise us relevant this year. Can the jets afford to lose their starting QB? Yes, because they suck and Teddy Bridgewater would look good in green

Who's the Bears back up? I think letting Campbell walk was a mistake.

Put them on the list then, Greg. C'mon, don't make me babysit YOUR thread.

I think they're a borderline WC team, don't you?

Incorrect. Quite a few teams have decent back-up options.

The issue at hand is how reliant franchises are exclusively on the "franchise QB".

Then I wouldn't put SF at #1 considering they were pretty damn good with Alex Smith.

The teams I'd put at the top of THAT list would be GB, NE, NO, and Atlanta.

If you cant win behind that SF Oline, with Harbaugh gameplanning, you don't deserve to be in the NFL anyways. Easiest QB gig in the NFL, IMO.

Debatable. I think you guys would be toast without Kaepernick, he brings a totally different dimension to your offense... even more important now since your best WR is on the shelf for most of the season.

GB - definitely, although Young is a better option than Harrell.

I understand what you mean about Kaepernick....but if he's out they still have one of the best D's in the league and one of the best run games in the league. Without their passing games, what do the Packers, Pats, Falcons, or New Orleans have?

Bottom line...my point is that any team that has a GOOD QB is gonna be hosed without him. If Colt were to have to come in (god help us), he'd still be playing behind that line with Frank Gore/Kendall Hunter/LaMichael James behind him. Harbaugh/Roman would also scheme a much shorter passing game...the way he did with Alex.

You are not serious right? Did you see what he did when he had to play? He SUCKED. I had high hopes / thoughts about him before but he was just dreadful

You mean in that one game, on MNF, in Kap's coming out party? Yeah, I realize what I was saying and how it can be interpreted by surface evaluators.

Just in defense of Campbell...

That was also the game that Aldon had 5.5 sacks. That line was HORRIFIC. Poor Campbell had ZERO protection all night and it was wondrous that he survived.

Actually I thought the Houston game the week before was worse. I have several friends that are Bears fan so I always check them out to see how they are doing and I my impression of Jason Campbell went down significantly last year. Not sure why you need to brand me a surface evaluator for disagreeing with you

Because I'm kind of an asshole, that's why.

I've always just felt Jason needs some stability and coaching. He's had absolutely none since arriving in the NFL. None.

Thankfully for him, he has a good tutor now.

Right...and he was playing behind that same horrific line.
