What's the penalty for looking a opposing team players wife wife I wonder????

Chris, I don't think what you've been doing to wives is called "looking." I'm surprised you haven't been "penisalized" for it. :141847_bnono:

That would be a SCH thread for the Politics Forum, oh wait we don't have one of those :)

I think it's pretty silly that these guys are jawing at each other all game long, trying to get into each other's heads, and the guy who comes out ahead in a play is the one who gets penalized. Yeah, Reed got lucky on the play, but you know Brown had been telling him the whole day how he was going to catch a long one on him. The penalty on Reed was ridiculous, he got up off the ground, hollered and walked away. I'm not even sure he said anything, just yelled a "Woo!" in Brown's direction. He wasn't in his face, or physical, or anything like that.

And a second one of those would have gotten him ejected? Ludicrous. And what a way for a ref to influence the game.

Should they change the rule about penalties costing 15yards and automatic first down? How about award them 15 yards but no first downs. This had no bearing on the play but can be huge turning point by bailing out the offense.

How bout just do away with the dumb penalty all together because the refs can already call unsportsmanlike penalties for egregious taunting.

Whole thing is getting more ridiculous by the year. What's next? Probably something like:
- New rule in 2023: No glaring at an opposing player.
- New rule in 2025: No looking at an opposing player for more than 2 seconds.
- New rule in 2027: No even thinking negative thoughts about an opposing player.

You're not far off, that is what the owners want.....compliant robots.

Idk bout you guys, but my fondest childhood football memories were Billy White Shoes Johnson, Neon Deion high steppin', the Fun Bunch and the Icky Shuffle.

The Icky Shuffle? Pfft, give me the Super Bowl Shuffle any day...tho it wasn't on field. Does anybody shuffle anymore?

I hadn't watched that video in over 20 years. Clear rip off of "Rappers Delight". Hooray for kakane?

Also: Pants so tight. I thought they were saying "i'm just here to rock a big moose knuckle.'

So bad..........in the best way possible.

Remember the 80's, every brand and team had to have a terrible rap.

We miss you Icky.

True. I'm sure the phrase "We need to capitalize on this rap things the kids are into" was uttered in every marketing meeting for 10 years straight.

Yes, RIP Icky.

Yes, im just saying you get 15 yards and first down. Seems a bit severe, its the same penalty of roughing a passer/kicker. It should be a 5 yard penalty at most.

You'd think at some point they would realize the "penalty of emphasis" that the NFL owner braintrust comes up with every year always ends poorly.

Remember the emphasis on Pass Interference? Ugh.

I just think back to the glory days of the 70's. Imagine Jack Lambert getting 15 yards for standing over ball carriers with his menacing stance. It made the game special and was part of why people watched. The NFL is just out of touch. This rule is just a weak extension of Unsportsmanlike Conduct with a too impactful outcome. Once again taking away a key element of the game, intimidation . I'm almost done and have been a fan of the NFL since the late 60's. Who tunes in to watch the refs over officiate?
