He drives me crazy with his childish antics but this guy is a football player. No one can argue that.

Yeah Radish, but you drive US crazy with your crotchety old man posts, so it its kind of fitting that you have to tolerate Tate :)

Best catch I have ever seen, and he is amassing a bunch of them.

Not only that, he's had quite a few ;)

He has behaved himself the past two weeks. So can't complain too much. Think Pete talked to him about it more than just what we saw on the side lines.

Golden Tate has finally become that special player all of us expected when we drafted him.

I dont know Les, he has gotten pretty robotic since his taunting brow beating. Would almost like to see more emotion myself.

I agree with this. I didn't follow him all that closely in college, but when we drafted him, what he is now and doing now is what I imagined he'd be, a multi-faceted play maker.

Tate might be my favorite player on the team. I'll take his 'childish antics' over driving around drunk at 7 am or beating up his girlfriend any day. I think sometimes we're wayyyyyy too critical of guys who have fun playing the game and celebrate too much or 'taunt' too much even though they play their asses off and are acting right off the field.

Help the team win, act like a man out in the world, and I don't really give a crap if you wanna be overly expressive on the field. It's a game.

Did anyone else notice how Tate seemed to be intentionally downgrading his celebrations after his great plays this game? He just ended each play with a scowl in his eyes that seemed to say, "Yeah, I'm a bad man, but I ain't celebrating and getting a flag or a fine."

I really hope we can resign him. I think the recent extension for Mike Williams from TB might be a good barometer for what Tate is worth. A stud WR with a superstar also on the team (Vincent Jackson in TB and Harvin here). Williams got $40 mil over 5 years with $15 mil guarunteed. Still a big chuck or change, but you need playmakers like Tate. Plus you have to love his track record of good health. Obviously Rice is gone so I hope they can get it done.

Well, he DID break into a TopPot Donuts once. But ya, I love Tate and am ok with his 'antics' that have yet to cost us anything.

TopPot should have thanked him for all the publicity they got out of that. :D

In fact if they were smart they would have hired him as their spokesman and built a marketing campaign around it.

Hell I didn't even remember that being him. But who can blame him way early in the morning I'm sure he didn't think anyone would notice or care.

I'd wager all of us would have done the same thing if confronted with the same situation. You all know by seeing me that I would have. lol
