Sue Bird must have played alongside (Australian) Lauren Jackson, I think?

Women play fully professional Australian Rules football and cricket now, and the Australian women's cricket teams* are all ruthless, natural-born killers!

* There are three different formats of cricket now... :)
I was down for the 2000 Summer Olympics and watched women's field hockey. One of the Aussie girls stepped in front of an opponent's clearance and took it right in the gut. The sound reached me all the way up in the stands.

I cringed, but the Aussie gal, CAUGHT THE BALL ON HER STICK, and took off towards the goal.

I've been in love ever since.

Have you watched WFA? Woman's football alliance. Womens tackle football. Season runs late April until the championship game played during the hall of fame week in Canton Ohio. I have followed the league for a few years now and I am seeing legit upward momentum in both on the field play, and viewership. If the WFA were a stock I would be smashing the buy button, because I think America's appetite for football is insatiable. Some games will even be on Amazon prime this year.

Not a round ball fan in general, but as a local I know that Sue Bird was everything for Seattle Women's Basketball for a lot of years. She earned that statue.

The women's field hockey is also a game for delicate princesses... NOT!!! The Hockeyroos indeed won the Gold Medal match, 3-1 against Argentina. I especially recall they had a forward (Alyson Annan) who shot absolute *bullets*!
