Strongest ever Division?

I found an article from this time last year saying talking about the NFCN

"No third-place team has won 12 games; only three times in the last 100 years has a third-place team won 11 games, most recently by the Cleveland Browns in 2020."
Of course last season the Packers came 3rd making it 4 third place teams winning 11 games.

We are now looking at their being a realistic chance that the third place team in the NFCW will have 13 wins and it is guaranteed the 3rd place team will have at least 11.

While the season is now 17 games, it is harder to finish 12-5 than 11-5. If the third place team wins 12 or more games it will be the highest by win percentage at least since 1978 (not sure about earlier when there were 14 or less games).

Is this years NFCW the strongest ever division?

I wonder how the Niner fans are feeling right now having to root for then Seahawks to win tonight?


It’s just crazy how this division has panned out. If you take the cardinals out of the equation you have three teams playing each other twice meaning if we all sweep the cardinals we have to have 6 losses split between the three teams. If we all win out the games we don’t play each other that means we would have a total of 12 losses and only 6 outside the division. That would be a record of 33-6 outside the division.

Right now the rams have 2 losses outside the division the Niners have 3 and we have 1.

rams only have one game outside the division left which is the Falcons next week.

Seahawks play Panthers next week for their only non division game

Niners have to play the Colts this week and the Bears next week.

Rams should easily add a win to the non division wins column but the Niner and Seahawks each have a tougher go but still very doable.

The AFC South had a crazy win % record in 2007. That equates to 30-10 in non-divisional games. The NFC West has a chance to go 34-10 in non-divisional games this year. However, that would require the 4 teams to win every remaining non-divisional game and I don't think the Cardinals will win those 2 games.

Vikes lost to the Rams 27-9
Packers lost to the Eagles 22-10
Lions Bye

Divisional:

Lions lost the Eagles: 45-31

Hell, the Cards were giving teams outside the division problems. Nobody wants to plat the Big three in the NFC West in the playoffs right now. I would say these three teams are better than anything the AFC has to offer. Looking all three the Seahawks have toughest last two, 49ers second and the Rams a pretty easy time. We have to turn it up, Rams have to not have a let down after this against weaker teams and the 49ers, may have to win out to get in with one game against us.

Good game Seahawks fans. Wonky calls on both sides which about evened out IMO....special teams killed us. We should still be in the drivers seat if we hadn't lost to Carolina, so if Seattle wins there next week we deserve to be a wildcard for sure (there are scenarios for the Rams to still win the division with a Seahawks win next week, but I don't think the Niners end up playing their starters in those so to me, it comes down to next week).

I do think we'll meet again, and I feel like we'll win, but what a game last night
