What you always have to take into account is that the back-up is probably worse than the starter, and that the back-up to the back-up is worse still, and the back-up to the 3rd string...

We are in a difficult spot right now. We are not only down to our 4th string tackle but we are down 3 CBs. I expect to see some CB elevations and hopefully we can get some TE and RB help with right side protections. Who knows maybe this kid will show us something in his first start in the NFL

This team is due to hit on an o-line guy. There have been quite a few decent players to come out of the later rounds and UDFA's that had nice careers. In all of those cases the teams didn't know what they had it until the guy played and proved it.

i'm actually looking forward to seeing what the guy has got. I mean, we know what we already got and it's been bad. So kind of exciting to me.

And iirc, Jason Peters came in a couple games for us last season and was terrible. Completely washed up. I am glad this youngster is getting a shot.

Which makes me wonder, why did we trade Mike Jackson? So dumb to give away a starting caliber CB.

It was a gamble to be honest but I think also because they probably want to the younger players to develop.

Jesus, why haven’t we learned to stock up on OL & DL? Without solid lines, your skill players don’t mean d!ck.
Ever since I saw Cortez Kennedy ruin offenses, I was convinced a solid D-line was game changing.
As I was fortunate enough to witness the greatness of Walter Jones, it was evident that a dominant OL meant you could do whatever you want on offense.
I’m feeling confident that MM believes that, I’m not so sure JS does.
Yes,hopefully the management will have a bit more Foresythe in our future O-line development

My friend, Jerrell was a draft pick this season and will now be the 3rd starter at RT and the 4th player at the position on the roster so far this season. Your comment is likely born of frustration but it is simply not the case the team hasn't tried to stock up on the lines. The team has plenty of depth but perhaps a lack of quality depth on the OLine. The team drafted 3 players for the OL this season 2 OGs and 1 OT this season. The team has had awful luck at RT injury wise this season and generally had a lack of health on the OLine generally this year. They also have two veteran OTs on the PS in Curtis and Jason Peters. With luck Fant will be back in few weeks,

RT- players injured or out:
1. Abe Lucas, PUP (knee) sadly seem to be unable to recover from his knee injury and regrettably might be at the end of his football career..
2. George Fant, IR (knee)
3. Stone Forsythe, (hand)

I have a good feeling about this….
My madden roster update has him rated higher than Stone!

I mean.. I’ll be honest with stone in anyways it’s like there’s no one there already
True that!

Stone is THE WORST OLineman in the NFL so far this season.

Forsythe has been the NFL’s worst offensive lineman this season. He’s allowing pressure on 13% of his pass blocks, which is the worst rate in the league. Forsythe is the only lineman giving up pressure on more than 10% of his pass-blocking snaps.

Too bad Shane Waldron took Jake Curhan with him to Chicago.

There's literally no one behind Jerrell. They didn't elevate Jason Peters off the practice squad, so I suppose one of the backup guards like Christian Haynes or Sataoa Laumea will have to play right tackle if something happens to Jerrell.

Michael Jerrell is taking a big step from the Findlay Oilers of the GMAC conference to the NFL. It could be a little harrowing.
And Michael Jerrell will save the day and Schneider's career.

Hawlblogger is a big fan of Jerrell. He thinks he will be solid in pass pro.
