With Harps build/speed they should throw him out there on ST's if they aren't already. Might help him make the cut.

I'd go for home run potential at that 3-6 receiver spot, a package of Rice and Williams outside with Tate or Baldwin in the slot and Lynch/Turbin/Michael in the back and Miller on the line is more dangerous than the same package with Harper right now.

Harper has some intrigue as big body, blocker, RB move type but needs a bit of time. Williams isn't a slouch in the size dept. and is a legit deep threat along with Rice on the outside.

They should keep both and trade Baldwin. When Harvin was signed there were offers made for Baldwin.

Are you nuts?

I like Williams.. but he lit up a bunch of players that won't be in the league in a couple of weeks. Baldwin is a sure thing.

That said.. I think Harper and Williams both make the team with Harvin on IR until after the bye.

I watched that game 3 times on NFLN and still can't explain without laughing maniacally to my Kansas City friends why we won and why we are New York bound. It's just too subtle for people that don't care about us to actually watch how we break the spirit of our opponents. It's not fun to explain and quite boring to watch in fact. If you're not a Seahawk fan.

WE PLAYED HORRIBLY, yet still made the game a joke. That isn't supposed to happen in the modern NFL except obviously Pete seems to have never read the memo?

He seems to think he can build a 1970-80's Pittsburgh dynasty despite the salary cap. He's totally insane but it actually seems to be possible, straight nuts but I am willing to let him try.

I think that just speaks more to the state of the Chargers than the state of the Seahawks.

The Chargers depth is pretty bleak, we obviously don't have that problem.

Aside from that.. cant read into Thursday's game very much at all.

Exactly. Dynasty level teams have depth, mostly not noticed even by most fans. Hence the reason Baltimore will be embarrassing so many this year. That defense is far better than last year and younger.

The fact that you can't fully extrapolate the actual season from the preseason no matter the circumstances leaves me no worries.

Baldwin's production can be replaced. He is an asset that can bring in a draft pick now. With the contract he will want soon, he will probably sign elsewhere so why get nothing when you can get something?

It's kinda changing the subject but is Baldwin much better than Kearse?
Best offensive player: Doug Baldwin. His snaps as the slot receiver were expected to be slashed after the offseason trade to acquire Percy Harvin from the Minnesota Vikings. But with Harvin out indefinitely following hip surgery and leading receiver Sidney Rice also in and out of the lineup because of a knee situation that required a trip to Switzerland for a procedure, Baldwin got plenty of snaps in camp and made the most of them.

As Wilson put it, "Doug looks tremendous out here. He can play any position. … He has so much quickness, so much ability to run by a guy. But he also has the ability to make a guy miss and juke them so badly they just fall down."

I remember when many expressed the same sentiment about Bobby Engram early on in his time in Seattle.

I disagree so much. If he was on the Patriots, he would catch 110 a year.

So many forget the season when we had Ruvell Martin,Deion Branch,Brandon Stokley,Mike Williams,Golden Tate,Ben Obomanu,Deon Butler,Julius Jones,Michael Robinson,Charlie Whitehurst,Matt Hasselbeck,Leon Washington,Justin Forsett,Marshawn Lynch,John Carlson,Chris Baker,Cameron Morrah. As our offensive weapons, now were saying dump a guy that is just coming into his own becasue we have what we think is depth and can be easily replaced some say. Year 2010.

We can go back farther to 2009 ,Julius Jones , Justin Forsett Edgerrin James , Matt Hasselbeck , Seneca Wallace , Louis Rankin, Justin Griffith ,Nate Burleson ,Deion Branch , T.J. Houshmandzadeh , John Carlson , Deon Butler , Owen Schmitt , Ben Obomanu , John Owens , Cameron Morrah .

I'm not so ready to dump guys that have shown something in games when were in the window and they are still getting better versus potential at this juncture of our teams attempt to go all the way.

I like Ben Obomanu better than either of them. The league minimum salary finished Ben.

I would go with Williams. Length and speed are what the Seahawks need at wideout.

It is possible we could keep both (6 wr's) but I'd like to see people's arguments for each, as if we had to keep just one.

Williams brings a deep threat and height factor that only Rice has, if Rice went down we would be sorely lacking size and speed in our top 3WR's this season. Williams is not the most versatile WR and didn't stand out on Special teams, but 6'5 wiht 4.4 that can actually catch is not that easy to replace. I question his attitude a little as he seems to be overly emotional about not getting a PI call his way, and in training camp after he took a cheap shot from Guy he tried to start a fight or was at least jawing back. I don't believe he has practice squad eligibility so if we cut him he's gone

Harper has the upside of an Anquan Boldin/David Boston, he is very strong and almost looks like a 6'1 230lb RB out there. With his size he fits the mold of a perfect Split End and with a year of grooming could be ready to step in for Golden Tate is he bolts in FA. He might not be a valuable asset this year as a WR but he could play a part on special teams and it has been said tht only Russell Wilson beats his to the facility and stays later. I like that sort of drive and being a former QB in College he probably needs to put in the extra work to catch up to some of the more fluid WR's. Harper was a 4th round pick so cutting him might be hard as I'm not sure if he would make the PS. It's a gamble but if we could it might be the best place for him.

for now...Williams

Replaced by who? Those guys don't play his position. Baldwin didn't have the greatest season last year but he also battled injury throughout. There is no way on earth we trade Baldwin this year.

I'm not sure if he thinks he's too good to deign to play ST or if he thinks he'd rather not do ST because he sucks at that.

I think it's important to note that Pete and John aren't slaves to their egos and will cut a 4th round pick if somebody else outplays the guy. Remember EJ Henderson (a 5th rounder)? If Williams is making the plays when given the opportunity and Harper is not, then what is there to discuss?

I like Harper, but at the moment he appears to be a candidate for the PS.
