Sweet angle in this vid of the play that drove a knife, err Spoon, into their hearts. Hell of a defensive mastermind, MM is.
Ernest Jones had some interesting comments about Spoon's pass rush success. He certainly gave all credit to Spoon, but also mentioned how he (EJ) needed to make sure he did his job. Watching the replay, he takes on the blocker so Spoon can finish. Hard to always see that kind of stuff in real-time, but that's the kind of unselfish play this unit depends on to be elite.
If he can't block him maybe he can tackle himI gotta give it up to big #76 on the Pats, chasing #7 all the way downfield before finally letting up on the 5.
Love that Big Boy Effort!
There's a lot of advanced stuff that a unit can do if, and only if, the team is willing to be unselfish and wants a Super Bowl more than a massive contract or an All-Pro stat line.Ernest Jones had some interesting comments about Spoon's pass rush success. Also in scouting to get the right type of personalities in. JS & Mac might just give us some pretty good years going forward. There's a lot of advanced stuff that a unit can do if, and only if, the team is willing to be unselfish and wants a Super Bowl more than a massive contract or an All-Pro stat line.
Unlocking that successfully is the sign of greatness in coaching.
