Sources: Seahawks eyed Deebo Samuel-DK Metcalf pairing in 2019 draft

The Seahawks intended to draft both Deebo Samuel and DK Metcalf in the second round of the 2019 draft and thought they had a deal in place to do it, sources told ESPN.

Shame it just couldn't work out. I mean, our first round pick was only seven selections before Samuel went anyway, but who could have avoided the allure of LJ Collier? It was an impossible situation.

They could have just taken AJ Brown instead of Marquise Blair without having to trade if they wanted a pair of highly rated receivers in that draft. He was rated significantly higher on the consensus big board than Deebo. Can't imagine the scouts would have been that far off.
