Bit unfortunate for Miller..outplayed his counterpart (really the only interesting thing to take from the match in my opinion). Missed a good chance. Hit the bar on another. Ran up the flanks.

He's 20.. Good future. Both he and Yedlin. Interesting that Porter has had such an impact on both he and Yedlin as the USMNT tries to sort out their outside back for 2018..

(Take a guess what position I occupied in college)

Nice win. Pappa didn't play...is he hurt? Surprising they used Rose. Good showing for team playing without Evans and Dempsey. When Evans and Dempsey come back, I believe the best lineup would be a 4-4-2. Martins and Cooper on top, then a midfield of Evans, Dempsey, Alonso, and Pappa, back line of Yedlin, Traore, Marshall, and Gonzalez.

BTW, Did they sign Parsemain to a contract? Heard quite a bit about him in pre-season would like to see him get some playing time. Today would have been nice to put him in there late up 2-0.

Pappa was dropped to the bench for this one. Poor play last match the main reason. After 3 games I think our best 11 is a 4231 of Yedlin, Marshall, Traore, Remick, Pineda, Alonso, Evans, Dempsey, Neagle, Martin's.

IMO that's how we should line up.

I can't find anything about Pappa being injured. I think he was just benched because he's been play so badly.

Interesting data compiled over 2-3 games?
Is that possible

And not having played the two most fouling clubs...

Numbers seem a little skewed to make any assumptions outside TFC and SKC foul a lot

Not sure if I had shared these or not.

But Levy Films is doing a weekly show online about the Sounders called In The 18. It's got player interviews, looks at practice, and game highlights. The feel of the episodes echos that of the documentary he did about the 2011-12 Sounders. That documentary follows the team immedietely following their crushing defeat away at RSL in the playoffs (they lost 3-0) all the way up until their defeat against LA in the second round of the playoffs the following year. Its a really good documentary. I own it on Blu-Ray.

Here is the trailer for the documentary:

and you can watch the whole documentary here for $8.99. It's a little over 3 hours long (206 minutes): http://vimeo.com/ondemand/americanfootball/52795082

Here are the episodes thus far of In The 18:

Sigi's "inspiring" speech in the trailer sounds more like Chris Farley's van-down-by-the-river character

Absolutely buzzing to go to the game tomorrow, first of the season. Downside I have to take my 8 month old son. I suppose i'm starting him young. Hoping for a comfortable win tomorrow after that Montreal game.

Well....that sucked...

Gave away another 3 points.

On to Portland (who are at the moment worse off).

Traore cost us that game. He is a liability, always has been. Two good games, one disaster is usually the pattern of his career. We were flying before that penalty and having to take Cooper off disrupted us big time. Traore should be a squad player, nothing more. Hopefully Anibaba gets a run now.

I disagree with you about Traore. Haven't seen the play, but seeing it live. I'm not so sure it should have been a red card. Looked like advantage was given and the shot was taken...to me its a yellow and a PK at most. Again, haven't seen it but from my view in the stands.

I'll report back after I watch it again tomorrow.

I haven't saw it since the game but regardless, he got himself in a position where the ref had to make a decision. Chances are the Frei would have at least got a touch to it, given the way he was playing. The warning signs were there earlier in the game when he got caught napping for the chance Columbus hit the post. He is a good back up player to have but he's 34 now and i'm much rather see Anibaba get a run.

Crap.

Loved our form before the PK anyway.

Agreed, we were just unlucky not to take our chances. The red card and having to take Cooper off messed with our flow.

MLS has the worst officiating ever. That was a BS red card. No way Traore should have been ejected from that game. Secondly, the refs pooped it on the second goal too. None of players were ready because they were waiting for the refs decision on goal kick or corner kick. The refs were the reason the Sounders lost not Traore. The Sounders should have had at least 3 goals this game, they need to do a better job on finishing. Cooper's goal was a thing of beauty. Nice power.

Jeez ever heard of internalizing? Teams can always think of a reason why some outside force caused them to lose, but the truly great one rest the blame squarely on themselves in times of loss and ask themselves what they could have done better to secure victory. Fact of the matter is the sounders could have and should have won that game.
