Any notes about the players actually playing?

Other than notes on Wilson and Irvin...? Not yet...be patient, grasshopper - practice just broke.

And apparently, Portis looked the best of the back-up QBs.

Do not like hearing that Avril is already dealing with some foot problems. We cannot have injuries on the D-line right now.

The Plantar Faciitis attached to a needed player is an absolute worry. I have had/still have this and I couldn't imagine having to play at NFL level suffering from it.

We had better pick up Abrahams white courtesy phone.

I had Plantar Faciitis about 40 years ago, it was very painful and made normal movements difficult and for me, it was difficult to even walk. As best I can recall, this condition only significantly effected me for a month or two and slowly got better for another month or two after that. I think I had a fairly average (but mild) case.

I'd rather have injuries on the D-line right now than have them in September through February.

Plantar Faciitis IS a worry for september and beyond. This shit doesn't heal easily and tend to re-occurr, so you had better be concerned about it.

Not a problem. By the time Avril is on the decline, Irvin will be back. By the time Irvin pulls a hammy after taking a few weeks to get into game shape, Clemons will be back. When Clemons re-tweaks his knee, Avril will have rested up. Plus the long shot that is Ty Powell will make a late season run.

Just messing around.

Hopefully this isn't a long term issue but I could see Avril being hobbled a little longer than the timeline Pete gave. These guys cannot catch a break with getting healthy DLs that can pass rush.

I expect Avril to be fine. If he isn't, hopefully they brought in some decent competition to fill the spot.

The post practice Wilson interview on .com right now... *swoon*

He's gonna have sophomore surge. That extra 4-5lbs he gained is all lower body too.

I know you are being flippant but it's not that hard to find if you try.

Intriguingly, Portis had a solid day throwing the ball as he split reps with Brady Quinn behind Russell Wilson.

And the other notable absentee was RB Marshawn Lynch, who has simply chosen not to participate for now, as is his right under the NFL guidelines as these are technically voluntary workouts. Carroll said that Lynch “may” participate before the OTAs end June 6. “This is voluntary. That’s the rules and the guidelines are all set up to be. Clem is rehabbing and he is not here, and Marshawn is not here. We miss them. We’d like them to be here. This is a lot of fun. .. He’s in very good shape. He came in 10 days ago and he’s in very good shape. He’s working an intense program in his area and he is benefitting from it. We’d love to see everybody here.’’

In a few other notes. …

— Tight end Anthony McCoy suffered an ankle injury of undetermined severity late in the practice.

— Also out or limited were rookie RB Christine Michael (hamstring) and CB Tharold Simon (foot).

— Asked his first impressions of the rookies who participated, Carroll said: “That they came out of the work that we have done understanding what is going on long enough to go out and compete a little bit today. (WR) Chris Harper was out there catching balls and (TE) Luke (Willson) did a real nice job today — you could see some things that he did. (C) Jared Smith, he had his troubles jumping into a two-minute drill during his first day of OTAs, but he made it through it. So we are benefitting from the mini-camp and the time they have spent with us so far and we are ready to let these guys compete and continue to throw them in there and see what they can do.’’

— Here are Carroll’s first impressions of Percy Harvin: “Percy did great. The benefit is that the fact he has been with (offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell) in Minnesota and that background, he has jumped right into the system of things. He already knows quite a few of the nuances and things. We’ve adjusted some things but he’s already begun to take control of that. Very explosive. He took the ball and turned it up a couple of times today and he’s just lightning fast. You can see why he’s such a factor catching it and running it and in the kicking game.’’

And here:

http://blog.thenewstribune.com/seahawks/2013/05/20/de-cliff-avril-sits-with-foot-issue/#more-17607

We had a chance to see the experimentation with Irvin moving to outside linebacker today. Irvin worked at SAM outside linebacker with the second unit.

Irvin appeared comfortable dropping in coverage defensively during passing drills.

Seattle’s front seven with the starters included Bryant at base end, Brandon Mebane at one-tech, Tony McDaniel at 3-tech, Michael Bennett at Leo, Malcolm Smith at SAM, Bobby Wagner at middle linebacker and K.J. Wright at Will.

On third-down situations, Mebane and Bryant played defensive tackle, Irvin and Bennett played defensive end, and Antoine Winfield came in for Smith at nickel.

Offensively, Russell Okung, Paul McQuistan, Max Unger, J.R. Sweezy and Breno Giacomini (left to right) were Seattle’s starting offensive line.

Percy Harvin saw plenty of time at flanker today, with Sidney Rice mostly watching from the sidelines.

Harvin made a couple explosive plays, including getting behind safety Jeron Johnson for a big play.

“The word around here is just competitiveness,” Harvin said. “Anytime I go against (Richard) Sherman and those guys, we’re just looking to make each other better. And anytime I step on the field, I’m looking to make myself better. Just going against those guys – they’re one of the best defenses in the league – I take it upon myself that if I can beat those guys, I’ll be pretty good on Sundays against other guys.”

Some tidbits

*Along with Clemons, running back Marshawn Lynch did not attend today’s voluntary workout. However, Carroll said that Lynch was at the team’s facility 10 days ago and appeared to be in good shape.

“He working on a really intense program in his area,” Carroll said. “And he’s benefitting from it. But we’d love to see everybody here.”

* Backup quarterback Josh Portis looked motivated to make folks forget about his recent DUI arrest. He showed good anticipation in completing several throws down the field during 2-minue and in 7-on-7 today.

* Sixth round selection Spencer Ware continued to get plenty of reps at fullback and running back today.

* Receiver Doug Baldwin looked quick and explosive out on the field. He appears to be healthy and back to playing the way he did as a rookie.

* Cornerback Walter Thurmond also was healthy and practicing today. Thurmond worked at nickel cornerback with the second unit defense.

* Mike Morgan looks like he’s added a few pounds, and worked as a Leo defensive end with the second unit defense.

* Seventh round draft choice Ty Powell also is working at the Leo position.
