From Clayton's afternoon visit on 710ESPN this afternoon... for those who missed it.

1. When asked how many INTs Sherman will get this year, Clayton answered nine (9). Sounds about right to me. I suspect that Sherm will see less targets his way this year.

2. Next question was sacks by Avril... Clayton said eight (8). Sounds a bit low. I'll go with ten (10).

3. Next, passing TDs by Russell Wilson... Clayton said 28. Sounds low to me as well. I'll take the over again... with 32.

4. And lastly on the over/under numbers, the number of rushing yards by Marshawn... Clayton said 1300. I'll take the under here for a variety of reasons... namely Harvin, Turbin and Michael... and potential for missed games due to his back.

And next Clayton was asked what position group(s) does Seattle have the best of the NFW West.

His answer, wide receivers... and then cornerbacks. Surprised he didn't also mention safeties.

He ranked the Whiners last in the division for WRs. Losing Crabtree will be huge for them.

Post your over/under selections just for grins.

1. Under. Gonna have the same number of picks as last year, 8.

2. Over. I'd say at least 10 if Clem doesn't make it back by week 2.

3. Over. RW is going to reap the benefits of having an entire off season to game plan and work with the number ones.

4. Under. Like the OP said, now gotta take into consideration Michael and Harvin taking some of Lynch's carries/yards. Not to mention possible missed games due to Lynch's back and DUI complications/suspension even though its been said he probably won't receive a suspension for it.

Sherman - under. (6)

Avril - push. (8)

Wilson - over. (39)

Lynch - over. (1650)

Both Wilson and Lynch will see their numbers rise this year. Seattle will have 16 games of read option this year instead of the 5 they had last year. After the read option went in, Lynch averaged something like 6 yards a carry and Wilson's numbers went up as well. Lynch will lose a few carries, maybe 20-30, but I expect him to have a very high YPC average and finish over 1600 yards.

Sherman - 7 INTs.
Avril - 9 sacks.
Wilson - 32 TDs.
Lynch - 1500 yards.

Best in NFCW by position group:
DBs - indisputable.
WRs - disputable (SEA/AZ).
RBs - disputable (SEA/SF).
QBs - disputable (SEA/SF).

1. Sherman: 14 INTs. It's not very often you can predict a corner will have the best season in NFL history, but if you can't make that prediction when the best corner in the league plays his 25 year old season, you can't ever make it. Research shows that humans reach peak strength at 25. Word from camp is that Sherman hasn't allowed a single reception in man coverage. Sherman (and ET) supposedly got the two highest 20 yard dash scores on ESPN's sport science in the show's history, so he has elite acceleration ("Adderal"? :) ) to match his length. With the D-line free agent pick-ups, some better luck this year hopefully with injuries on the D-line, Quinn's penchant for blitzing, the likelihood that Seattle will be playing from far ahead most games, and the overall strength of the secondary (meaning teams can't easily throw away from him)--there are going to be a lot of risky balls thrown up this year. Sherman has a legit chance to cash in with some record setting production.

2. Avril: 8 sacks. Sacks are too variable and Avril on a new team is too much of an unknown quantity to make a confident prediction. Last year Aldon Smith was on target for the sack record but "fell off" to end the season. While some folks will say it's cos of Justin Smith and others Aldon's injury, analysis I saw showed that Aldon was still getting great pressure, the pressures just didn't happen to convert into sacks. I think there will be plenty of sacks to go around for the team this year, but it's anyone's guess who collects them.

3. Wilson: 35 TDs. Wilson had 16 TDs for the final 8 games to end the regular season and figures to be even better this year. Schedule's harder though. I hope he goes over this. I think it's 50/50 that Wilson leads the NFL in passer rating.

4. Lynch: 1300 yards. Lynch will have high YPC and coast to 1300 yards, but several factors may reduce his cumulative total: League suspension depending on how DUI case turns out, back or other injuries keep him out a couple games, Michael/Turbin are used more to make the RB group even more deadly and efficient.

Note that it was passing touch-downs

I agree with the line of 28 but expect another 7 running it in (bootleg kind of short yardage runs)

1. Under (5) - Sherm's coverage is going to be so tight the targets coming his way are going to be very low. He's going to have a season like Deion used to where he basically shuts down one side of the field.

2. Over (10) - It's going to be his main job (rushing the passer) and I think the team will have improved play at the DT position meaning mostly one on one blocking on Avril.

3. Over (34) - And what's going to be really amazing is he's going to be over 30 TDs with 5 or less ints. When you go 20 TDs and freaking ZERO ints. in the red zone as a rookie, it means you see the field and make the correct decision nearly every dropback.

4. Under ( 1200) - More carries for Michael than we think going into the season because I predict dude's gonna be really good.

If we have an improved pass rush like many of us expect , then skies the limit. I can see either Sherman or Browner having career highs . I also expect Thomas to start catching his passes.

Sherman will have 5 picks max, no one is going to throw at him.

Ah, but Sherman gets picks on other defender's routes, too!
