First time he played Pete, the Dawgs won on a late-second kick. Rick goes out to midfield to meet him, and Pete angrily said "we'll be back".

First time Rick went out to meet Harbaugh, after Harbaugh beat him, Jim slapped away his hand for a shake (sound familiar?) and said "how'd you like that, Ricky?"

It was a pretty cool thing to listen to. I know Rick's not the most credible source, but it sounded right. He said each coach is the type you want to play for, but hate when you cant play for them.

He said Pete and Jim each hated him, and it wasn't a secret.

I saw some twitter comments about this interview earlier and then found it online too. Was a really interesting interview.

Hearing about the two fighting at coaches meetings?! Just butting heads every chance they get. Now they're in the same division in the pros?? Wow.

He's great on Mitch's show. I've always liked him, and thought the fanbase came down wayyyy too hard on him. Sure, he didn't like linemen, but to be hated so deeply for taking a job interview and lying about it just doesn't seem that the punishment fits the crime.

I personally disliked how his teams seemed so undisciplined.

Quality listening material there! Most coaches probably hate eachother (mabye not as much as Pete and Jimmy) - I bet Lame Kiffen can't stand Mike Leach after last week.

Hated Slick as a coach...7-0 in Apple Cups against us. The shear number of thugs on those teams, then all the shady business before he got fired.

But I enjoy his insight as a guy at the desk on the P12N.

I'm sure Lane doesn't like Mike Leach. I bet it stung a little more for Leach to play down the win. That hurts USC's pride quite a bit when a lowly program like WSU beats them and just shrugs it off and gets ready for the next week.

Leach is the master at beating overrated Carroll assistants, I'd downplay it too.

Yeah, I'll buy that I guess. Still don't think these things should have earned him Public Enemy #1 status around these parts though.

Seriosly - Willinghammer got off easy. He should have never been allowed to go 0-12

I wonder if Slick realizes the opposite can be said for him. I hated Neuheisel when he coached for us, but had no issue with him when he coached elsewhere.

Pretty sure Pete has told the "We'll be back" story before. I don't think he said it angrily though, and Rick didn't indicate that either.

Rick was great I met him several times, one of the most inspiring speakers I've had the privilege of listening to. Hedges was the problem, she framed him and he proved it in court. There needs to be a body that governs the NCAA as it is more corrupt than any college and their investigation was a joke. Hedges later only reprimanded Dana Richardson who was in charge of ensuring NCAA rules were followed, for betting in pools too. Lol What a joke.

Rick has been on radio here in the Seattle area a few times the last few years. He's articulate and has come to grips with how things went, or didn't go here. He's quite good with Mitch and others here in Seattle when I've heard him.
