That sort of accuracy could come in handy at times, perhaps even in immeasurable ways. And we all know how immeasurables can factor into all this. I could even live with an occasional unfortunate "errant" kick similar to what happened in this game by someone with incredible precision:

This guy will get a kicking job. Too many old, crappy kickers getting jobs this year. This guy has the potential to be a fan favorite and be really good.

I was impressed with his video of trick kicks. I have to wonder though how many were do-overs. He won't get to many do overs in the NFL

Reports out of training camp were that he's the real deal. Some of the players were saying he's the most accurate kicker they've ever seen.

Then how did he lose his job to Dave "30 yard miss" Akers?

Lions fans are as confused as you.

The comments on the Lions site are all about how this is a terrible decision.

NFL teams are too afraid of inexperience.

He's 3 for 3 with 39 49 and 52 yards, in his first 3 kicks EVER in a football game. I played Football since I was 8, I can't imagine your first game being in the NFL. THIS DUDE IS LEGIT. Much better than Hauschka, he's 28 but he has a fresh leg.
