Pete and Hurtt didn't play Bush much, when he played, he didn't overwhelm. With that, his market value ought to be quite low. If we can sign him on the cheap, what's your opinion to move Bush to SS? Before his injuries, his was very athletic, he had ET3 kind of speed. If he could cut 10-15lbs, he might regain some speed? According to PFF, he tackled well.

At 5'11" and 234 lbs, Bush is undersized (too short) as a LB, but has a SS, he got the 'right' height if somewhat beefy.

It’s hard to play safety if you haven’t played it at the college/pro level before.

Not sure how many snaps Bush had at the third level patrolling the deep ball.

Reaction and anticipating also reading offensive schemes can be very difficult to do for new safeties.

Bush has the measurements and athleticism so maybe he can get by with just that for now but it’s so hard to know some guys are just built to play some positions more than others.

Put him in practice and see how he does at safety….

Great points! My thoughts were Bush could be signed for cheap, he clearly hasn't excel at playing LB, his father was a safety, and his size fit safety more so than LB.

He's not a safety.

Bush has played at linebacker since his collage freshman year.

I am pretty sure that Bryant will be our project safety for 2024

I think that the versatile Coby Bryant is a likely possibility. The coaching staff yet to be named will also have Julian Love, Ty Okada, Jonathan Sutherland, and a rehabbing Jerrick Reed II.
