Shaquem Griffin...chapter 2 ?

We play in a league where pass rushers are an imperative and come at a premium.

And yet, we have a player that seems to have pass rushing as their greatest strength while pass coverage is a weakness. And we put him out there in the flat, to cover people in their routes.

Probably because of concerns against the run, as if that was near as important as getting to the QB, but either way - if that is the concern then just play him on 3rd downs. If we have a crappier Freeney, I would at least wish to see him being used.

Using him as a box safety would be OK. But nowhere near as valuable as a good pass rusher.

Instead we keep using guys like inconsistent, if not unimpressive, Dion Jordan, because he was a 1st round pick back in 1978 or something. But someone on our roster seems to be able to actually rush the passer, should at least be used at the thing he is best at, right?

What **** are you talking about? Coverage is one of the few things he can do well. Really well.

C'mon man...be informed.

At any rate Shaquem and many others will be losing sleep over Aug. 31 ; when roster personnel gets trimmed to 53 .

Those 4 are locks IMO

The rest is a dogfight. Griffin brings something no one else does though, and that's pure pass rushing instincts.

With how stacked we are at LB and the shallow aspect at SS I still think with his above average coverage skills that may be a spot he lands if given a chance, he can still pass rush from in the box and being a bit undersized and having to add weight to play on the edge may be what is hampering him anyway.
