Kirby back from his break throwing strong out there. 5 full innings scoreless. Looks like he'll work right back into the rotation. Have to keep close tabs on his innings so he's strong down the stretch run.

Now, let's see if we can tack on a couple more runs.

When all is said and done, think Cal might go down as the best catcher in M’s history. Dude can flat out smash the ball.

Wow super unlucky bounce. Ball goes foul and then comes back over the bag.

Definitely getting out lucked this game. Thought SS pulled Kirby an inning too early. Only 51 pitches thru 5 and the Rangers were pretty clueless hitting wise against him.

Understand the trying to keep the innings down thing but seems like a bit of over managing there IMHO.

That's the kind of win that can light a fire under the team.

On the flip side, if you're Texas, that's a pretty heart wrenching loss.
Seattle has been on the wrong end of those more times then not, over the 20+ year playoff drought.

That actually really annoyed me. Pitch count is a huge part of the current game, and, when it's low, you can rest your bullpen arms at the very least.

One hell of a game last night! Holy Moly! Talking Heads seem to have forgotten that there was an important Sacrifice Bunt to move Cal to 2nd base and get him in scoring position though!

I don't care if it's "just" a bunt! It's part of the strategy, and a decision that propelled the Mariners to another improbable win!

Yep. Bunting is a lost art and under utilized.

What a lot of fun the Mariners are this year huh? 😁

Like Scott Servais said: "It's the Julio Rodriquez show, and we're all along for the ride!"
