I have never gotten a tattoo before, and I was thinking that 63 years old is a good time for one. If I do it, it will be Seahawks themed. I have looked online and seen some good ones, but not exactly what I hoped for. I know that many of you have tattoos, and some may even be tattoo artists, which is why I am here asking.

My vision is Thor (God of Thunder) in a Seahawks uniform (like the ones I see with Bigfoot) standing proudly over the fallen body of a Patriot. Mjolnir would be on the neck of the Patriot player, with Super Bowl LX underneath.

Have you ever seen anything like this? Is it a copyright infringement to even do one like this?

Thanks!!

Is this going to run down your back between the shoulder blades?

I got a tattoo when I was 55. I have never regretted it, but I thought about it for ten years. Obviously, just getting ready to get your first one at age 63, you're taking it very seriously, so why football? Tattoos are fun - I loved the entire process. But I would first do something that had a deeper meaning to you. Then consider a sports-related tattoo. But whatever works for you, just enjoy it.

Yes copyright infringement. Just make sure you don’t cross paths with anyone who works at marvel. If they see your tattoo.. straight to jail
I was more worried about the artist being afraid or unwilling to do it because of infringement.

I always said that the only one I would get is if we won the superbowl. I chickened out when we beat Denver. My daughter says she will get a matching one, so the importance factor is there.

My Seahawk tattoo story.

I was 14 when the expansion was announced, (1974) vowed then to be a life long fan.

In 1978/79 I met and became very good friends with a guy named Brandon. Had many things in common like riding motorcycles, we both had 3 cylinder 2 stroke Kawasaki 750s. More importantly we were both rabid Seahawk fans.
We made a pact, if the Hawks ever won a Superbowl we would get Seahawk themed tattoos.
1980 he was diagnosed with cancer and didn’t live another full year.

When we did win 48 I made a mental commitment to get that tattoo.

Hate myself for it, but still have not honored my commitment to myself or to my friend Brandon.

Main reason being I haven’t spent the time to find an artist I can trust.

This thread, this post brings a bit of sadness to my soul.

I'm in the same boat (kinda). Just turned 47 and decided at the end of the NFCCG that I should get my 1st (likely ONLY--I hate needles) tattoo, and that it will be Seahawks Superbowl themed + my kids' names/birthdays.

As for your ThorHawk design idea, and, again, I am a tattoo virgin, that shit seems pretty detailed to be your first time under the needle! 🤔😳 I mean, and someone experienced in the matter let me know if I'm trippin', but that seems akin to having a train ran on you the 1st time you have sex. 😵‍💫

As far as "copyright infringement" goes, I assume it's only an issue for the actual artist to worry about. I mean, who's gonna enforce it?

That is an interesting take on it. My daughter, who has way more tattoos than I approve of says it should take about 5 hours, and the shoulder area doesn’t hurt. Not sure I believer her though.

I’m sorry for the loss of your friend. Perhaps this will be the year to honor your pledge?

Always in the back of my mind.

It’s finding the “artist” that complicates things.

Last thing anyone wants is a phuced up tattoo
Isn't there some kind of rating system with tattoo artists?
I don't know myself, I would think so, I can picture a tribute tattoo
with the Hawks and your buddy together.. Good luck!

Yea I’d probably incorporate his initials or date of his passing, something along those lines anyway.

As far as rating systems go, I’m ignorant

You had a Kawasaki Mach III and survived? I had a Navy buddy in that time frame who had one. Many stories (which mostly included 18YO undeserved confidence, 100+mph through downtown Orlando FL at midnight with absolutely no safety gear, etc) surrounded that bike! With any combination of him or our circle of friends at the controls, and another riding bitch. And usually yelling at the driver to slow down.

Sorry for the highjack, but that took me instantly back.

Also kind-of on thread, I have a memorial tattoo on my right shoulder for my lifelong best friend. I went to an artist recommended by tattooed friends and described what I was thinking. My friend fancied himself a musician, and many times when I went to spend the weekend visiting him in Port Townsend he would teach me a song he wrote and we would get on stage at an open mic night and play it. His tattoo is his initials (JB) turned into a stylized guitar. Above that is a line from the Righteous Brothers song 'Rock and Roll Heaven' "Life is just a one-night stand". I thought it turned out nice, and getting a tattoo feels like dragging a fork across your skin over and over in the same place. I have 4 overall and I keep going back, so it ain't *that* bad!

As far as a Seahawks tat referencing a particular game, I would definitely wait for the outcome! Otherwise you could find yourself in the same shoes as someone with their ex's name tattooed on them.

Also, extreme details in a tat look cool at first, but it gets blurry after like 20 years. I need to the the song quote touched up with white ink to be legible again. So don't get one that's too 'busy'!
