I do not understand this move.

This could have been done post draft if you fail to land a rookie TE to team with Fant, Barner and Russell. The team will be using a lot more two TE sets for this new offense but this is tipping off that the Seahawks may not intend to draft a TE for the 2025 NFL draft.

Puzzling.

Saubert is fine for a #3 TE but it seems the Seahawks are open for business when it comes to players hitting 30 and over on offense.

Makes no sense to me really.

Maybe theyre just setting up to pick on early and dont want other teams thinking we want/need a TE?? Or, because he was with the OC in SF and run close offenses, they figure he will help out with the new offense? Either way, more bodies for training camp at least!

The bigger picture is that they may or may not, it keeps other team's guessing. I love this strategy of plugging up as many holes as you can before the draft, not only will other teams have no clue what position we're going to take with our picks but also being able to nail the BPA without reaching for need.

I'm for this.

This guy is an 8-year backup -- think Pharaoh Brown. We could still draft a TE (or two) and let Saubert go, but we won't NEED to draft a TE. If you look at the roster, the Seahawks are a LG away from being able to start the season TODAY. Given that there are no quality LG available in FA, this is exactly where you want to be going into the draft.

Trying to figure out what's going down in the VMAC, for sure. Filling all our holes, outside the OL, with veterans. So coaching can draft and build a young team that creates a dynasty... I hope, if not, I have brown bags for sale.

You guys should stop trying to use fantasy football logic when discussing events in the real world.

A good blocking TE is as good as another OT. I imagine it's a one year deal with nothing guaranteed.

We are, we are trading Fant. We are, we are trading Noah Fant.

DK, geNO, talks of K9 to the Raiders, now hinting at making Fant redundant.
