It makes sense. He has the most experience and has known MM for a long time and comes from a great football tree. I would love this move. Just for his experience he is my top choice.

Yeah, as much as Frank Ragnow is a good offensive line coach, offensive coordinator is a whole different ball game.

I am a little sad that we're sticking with a blocking scheme that heavily leans zone, but that's not as important as the overall offensive philosophy which I love.

We're going to see a lot more under center, a lot more play action, and cleaner zone rushes. Zach Charbonnet especially will benefit from this - he might start looking like a star.

This philosophy alone will take a ton of pressure off the OL and make their job easier. Kubiak in and of himself is an OL addition.

Yep I see it almost exactly like you do. If its Geno I think he helps him a ton and if its someone else I think it still helps.

I think the defense is good enough that a little normalcy on the offense and this team will be ultra competitive next year.

I don't hate it. I don't love it. If this comes to pass we are basically copying the rest of the division with the understudy as our lead. Watching the Vikes get Molly whopped that's what came to mind.

I don't know anything about him other than what I've read here. All I care about, like all of you, is that he improves our offense with a more balanced attack.

I'm on board with it.

He's had a good pass-to-run ratio both places he's been OC. A little worried about the success of his run scheme, though. He's stuck to his run game both places he's been, but the success has been mixed. (New Orleans Offensive Line fell apart this year due to injuries, to be fair.)

Play action rate slightly below the middle of the pack, but essentially right where Waldron had us in 2022 and 2023 when our play action game actually worked well. Used a lot of designed roll outs this year in New Orleans. We definitely are going to have much less predictable pocket for DEs and Edges to tee off on.

But, most importantly, he has NFL play calling experience. He's spent most of his coaching career at the NFL level. He might have less creative route trees for WRs, but he'll for sure have a better sense of NFL level timing.

We could definitely do worse.


EDIT: Also, if Leslie Frazier sticks around and doesn't go to Dallas or whatever, Kubiak's first NFL coaching gig was under Frazier as Head Coach in Minnesota.
