Seahawks D Rank?

It’s early of course and it’s certainly debatable but I agree with Daniel Jeremiah on with Brock and Salk today that the top 4 defenses right now are (in no particular order):

Chargers
Seahawks
Eagles
Packers

Where do you rank arguably these top 4 defenses thus far?

I’d love to KNOW that we have a top 4 defense.

I’m a Seahawk fan and the inherent pessimism that comes with it makes me wonder how the Hell are we top 4.

I like what I’m seeing, I believe we’re going to get better as the season progresses.

It's too early to really rank defenses (or offenses for that matter). To me you need at the very least 4 games but really about half way through the season you'll have a good picture of the defensive ranking.

But I'll watch them sack and intercept Rogers any time.

It’s all just subjective right now of course. No need for forensic metrics at this stage. It’s more the smell and eye test right now and those are the 4 defenses standing out as having very good defenses.

We are using the feel good metrics.

Also, actual metrics Seahawks are #1 in pressure rate. I think after this weekend there is a good chance they are actually top 4 in a lot of additional metrics.

I haven’t actually looked into any of the stats, if our guys are actually creeping up the ladder that makes me happy.

I truly believed that we would end up near the top 1-4 @ the season end , but figured they would have to “prove it” before anyone outside of our fan base gave them the credit.

Packers defense looks legit. Really lightning fast… but I like what our group is doing. Let’s get Nick and Spoon back in the lineup and keep everyone healthy (I’ve also got everything crossed that Rylie Mills makes an appearance at some point and he flashes post ACL)

To further this point - to be considered top 5 is elite. Through 2 weeks we boast one of the most impressive metrics that almost always details a successful team - QB pressure rate with 4 - which indicates we get home with just our front 4 which is a massive advantage to not have to blitz and sacrifice coverage. If I had the choice to have the pick of any team unit to be the strongest unit in the league - it would always be Defensive Line. And we have some DOGS! It will only get better.
