I think if you call it crap, you diminish what the man just did. He has struggled in certain situations.

95% of players never recover their confidence when they face the kind of adversity he did.

He is one of the very very few with the will to push through and recreate himself

Proud of him!
I am taking nothing from Sam. He was amazing tonight.

But "the narrative" was based on two games at the end of a 14-3 season last year. It was being tossed around before the first Rams game, and of course the media doubled down on it after he threw 4 interceptions in that game. If "the narrative" was "Sam has a rough time with the Rams", I would say it was earned. He's basically a second year starter when it comes to playing on quality teams. He's been getting better and more clutch all year. I don't think the narrative was ever earned - IE, it was a load of crap.

But we're debating semantics when we're both super excited to see Darnold hoist the NFC champions trophy tonight. :)

I hope that narrative is NEVER brought up again. Bunch of crap
It will always be brought up.

He could throw for 6 TDs and no picks, and they'll still say he got carried by the Defense all season long.

It's to a point where you just say "F--K YOU" to the idiots out there and just proceed to ignore them.

Yep, another chapter in an inspiring story of resiliency. The man famously "saw ghosts", he played himself off two teams... he has now won more games than anyone the past two seasons and is the first QB from the vaulted class of 2018 to start in the Super Bowl!
And will be the first QB from the VAUNTED (I think that's the word you meant) class of 2018 to WIN the Super Bowl!!

AND HAD NO TURN OVERS it went 4, 3 00000000000000000000000000
In fact, I'd argue that Stafford should've had 1 INT but Riq couldn't catch the ball (remember the play?).

Matt threw far more Turnover-Worthy throws (though there weren't many) than Sam (who had, I think, one iffy throw all game).

Won't be much of a conquering of the ghosts considering that the Ghost-creator (Belichek) isn't in the league anymore.

Sam's going to have a lovely time slicing and dicing up that secondary in two weeks.

Sam has been fantastic all season long!
Every QB has a bad game now and then but Darnold has been nails throughout the season and just went toe to toe with what the 'experts' would have everyone believe is the greatest genius coach in the history of sports along with the greatest quarterback of all time and came out victorious!!!

I am interested to see how much these idiots on all these talk shows will 'move the goal post' again with Darnold.

He can't beat the Rams
He folds in big games
He can't make the big play with a big play is needed

Blah, blah, blah.

I know Sam and our Seahawks don't care what is said, but it's gonna be interesting watching what all is said and how these idiot media jerks spin the narrative on Darnold for the next couple of weeks!

I'm sure his PFF grade will be 40-something and the narrative will remain the same.

All we'll hear for the next 2 weeks is "But will Sam Darnold choked in the Super Bowl? He always chokes in big games, you know!"
I was listening to some NFL+ show after the game while washing dishes, and heard someone say something very similar to this. It struck me as a ridiculous comment, given what had just happened.

People on this forum were so damn hard on him after the 4 int Rams loss. Funnily enough, that's the last game we lost. I mean we are really that team and he is THAT GUY. Sam Darnold is the man he is the dude and he is SERIOUS Sam Darnold

well he totally whiffed on that bubble pass to Bobo, hows anyone miss such an easy throw.

J/K

Sam played amazing all game. Could not have asked for any more. if he ever had self doubt its gotta be gone by now. he seems to be playing more and more confident and the whole offense is hitting their stride. hopefully his best performance yet is in two weeks.
