Well deserved. Darnold is making our two Schneiders look like geniuses for trading of geNO and signing of Darnold.

He had a damn good season, even though he had ridiculous weapons. Would have been interesting to see what they would have done w/out those last 2 games.

I say that Sam would've had to have won the damn Superbowl for the Vikings to move off of their McCarthy fetish, @SoulfishHawk .

Kevin O'Connell made a big mistake in the offseason after McCarthy was ruled out for the year.

He said that "We found our Franchise QB" when referring to McCarthy which painted him into a corner.

So now he's forced to roll with him (and go down in flames with him) whereas if he didn't say that, they could've brought Sam back for a year (or two more) to see if they've struck gold.

Now the Vi-Queens are pinning their entire playoff hopes on a player whose best talent is handing the ball off to a running back. :ROFLMAO:

O'Connell has a truckload of companies on that not-signing Darnold bus. Giants, Raiders (that's you Tom Brady for vetod Pete's desire to sign Darnold), Steelers, etc etc.

Totally agree—KOC shot himself in the foot with that “franchise QB” comment way too early. Now he’s stuck riding with McCarthy no matter how mid he looks, while Sam’s probably sitting there like, “Y’all sure about this?

I'd like to see a few games before passing judgement.

There is a very good argument that the genius of O'Connell and the Vikings WR room would make anyone a good QB. If this is the case we could end up with the Darnold that played for the Jets and Panthers.

I've seen little of McCarthy and while the Vikings staff haven't seen him play in the NFL and there is a significant amount of risk with any rookie it is certainly possible he plays better than Darnold did last season at a mch lower salary hit, or that he does about as well as Darnold last year, not because he is especially talented but those around him make him look good.

Signs out of TC for Darnold aren't encouraging. Let's hope for some improvement. If not, I guess it will be the Milroe show sooner than later.
What are you talking about?

Sam has been doing well.

And your Milroe take is absolute nonsense.

You've been spicy this weekend for someone who just joined this board in March and will be gone, without so much as another post, the moment Darnold gets benched or traded.

Why don't you tell us WHY you disagree with the Milroe take.

First off, bite me. 🖕

Secondly, Milroe won't be ready to take over anytime soon, clown.

He will need at least 2 seasons for sure to be able to challenge for QB1.

The thing is, however, if Sam balls out like they want him to in the constraints of Kubiak's system, he'll be around here for awhile and Milroe will be waiting a bit longer to get any sort of shot.

This isn't a JJ McCarthy situation. Our head coach has no personal affinity toward any of the QBs and hasn't done anything stupid like proclaim that Milroe is the franchise QB ala Kevin o'Connell with McCarthy.

Lots of int's from what I read. That's what I'm talking about. Sorry if that goes against your narrative. Hopefully he plays well in actual games.
