Marques Colston 6-4" 225# 11 Catches

Robert Meachem 6'2" 215# 2 Catches

Josh Hill 6'5" 229# 1 Catch

Jimmy Graham 6'7" 265# 1 Catch

Ben Watson 6'3" 255# 1 Catch

The Short Dudes:

Darren Sproles 5'6" 190# 5 Catches

Lance Moore 5'9" 190# 2 Catches

That's 5 guys 6'2" and above. 6'3", 6'4", 6'5" and 6'7" The 6'4" WR caught the most passes.

Don't know what this really means in the long run, but I would guess that we need one or two more tall pass catchers.

The need for tall receivers is overrated. You either run the routes and get open and catch the ball or you dont. Height is a neat accessory but it isnt needed a tall

Physicality is required though you have to be able to win off the line and outmuscle the other player and attacking the ball at the high point is also improved if your 6'3. Now maybe you think Tate is a great first tier NFL WR I do not. Also visibility is also improved for the QB if your target is bigger . This is all well established common sense scouting that you would be foolish to ignore. Don't get me wrong there is a place for a Golden Tate on any team but you don't want a WR group all under 6 feet it's just not a good mix.

our wrs are short slow and cant get separation. you either need to find a guy that can jump over guys, or outrun them. our wrs do neither. not counting percy obviously, since hes barely apart of this team. RIP our draft picks we wasted.

and ive been banging on the tall WR drum all season. Not Petes SC style, surprised he hasn't tried harder to find them in his rebuilding process.

Disagree completely. Tall receivers are easier to spot down field and with the average defensive back being about 5'10" the tall receiver makes a huge difference in the Red Zone.

We have been settling for way too many red zone field goals recently and having someone like Marques Colston (6-4" 225# 11 Catches 1 Touchdown) would be the difference between field goals and touchdowns. Watching those red zone plays last night it was obvious that we just didn't have that big target out there. This is why I want someone like Austin Sefarian Jenkins or Brandon Coleman in the draft.

It does seem odd though that Zach Miller wasn't targeted more last night. And I don't think Luke Willson was quite ready to play but I hope he is ready for next Sunday.

They've been trying to get some tall pass catchers since they've been here. Hasn't worked out just yet. I assume they will keep trying.

I would agree they've definitely been trying.

Rice is 6'4
Mike Williams is 6'5
Braylon Edwards is 6'3
TO is 6'3
Stephen Williams is 6'5

They just haven't spent any big draft capital on one yet. I'd think that will change this year.
