He had 90+ receptions 4 seasons in a row with Stafford as his QB. He never had more than 64 in a season with Wilson as his QB (and that was by far his best season in Seattle). I'm not surprised he prefers Stafford to Wilson. For a WR, better stats generally equal bigger paychecks.

Agreed but that is mnore about the system then the QB

For sure. I still think Stafford is a good QB though. For much of his time in Detroit he hasn't had a very good team surrounding him. He's almost always had at least 1 (sometimes 2) very good to great WR's, but has barely had a running game and his defense is usually mediocre to bad. Hard to have overall team success in that situation.

Hard to have team success, but pretty easy to have inflated stats.

Yeah, keep your 5K yards and a buttload of TD's. I'll take playoff wins and Super Bowl appearances. The fascination w/numbers over WINS these days is pathetic.

Stafford had the misfortune to be a Lion his whole career. The is no doubt his career would of been much more successful with another organization . In all fairness Stafford has been one of the few bright spots for Detroit . He is a good QB and can really sling a football. He just got stuck with a less than stellar team. Do you think that Wilson would of been a huge success if he had played for Detroit his whole career ? IMO...nope.

Stafford's had great players around him, including guys like Golden, Megatron, etc.......in fact he's probably had more talent around him on the offensive side of the ball than Russell's had.

I like Stafford, I do think he's a good QB. But I think he's missing what Russell has, which is that game on the line clutch gene. Russell's a gamer...............and I don't think Stafford is. He's just another good to sometimes great QB that shrinks when the game or season's on the line.

This IMO is not about talent, this is Golden still being butthurt over how things ended here, and more importantly how things ended with his relationship with Russell...........of which no one but those two know about.

What do you want him to say, Stafford's his QB.

No he's not. Tate went to the Eagles and is now on the Giants. You are way behind.

That's why I wrote this 12 posts later.

Ha, I forgot Golden was traded to NY too.

In that case, TO THE OUTRAGE MOBILE!!!

Considering all the ALLEGED shenanigans rumored to have gone on between Russell and Golden, no one should be surprised with this statement.........and he did have far better stats in Detroit.

Maybe read the entire thread before being a correction Nazi.

Golden plays for the Giants now, and was an Eagle before that.

He doesn't really have a buttload of TD's. Yards and receptions? Definitely. TD's? not so much.

IF he was right, that means Statford's the best QB that doesn't win a lot of games.

Wide receiver is always going to prefer a throwing QB over a baller. It doesn't mean doesn't like Russ, just that they are different and Stafford's style helps to get him the ball, even when he is covered.

Stafford lacked the IT factor going back to college.
