Ok, we know we need a win vs the Cardinals this week, but here's a list of games that have the possibility of affecting tiebreakers or the playoffs

Rams / 49ers

Giants / Redskins

Titans / Saints

Vikings / Packers

Eagles / Cowboys

Rooting for the Rams, Giant and Titans are all obvious

Eagles / Cowboys game really only matters if you care who you play here. If we win the division either would come here and if we get the wild card, we have to go to their house, so pick your poison

Vikings / Packers is a bit more interesting. Vikings winning lowers the SOV for the Niners, but that tiebreaker may be a lost cause (but not quite yet). Packers winning keeps them on pace as a possible three-way tiebreaker with the Saints if they beat the Titans. We can't beat the Saints head to head, but we can in a three way tiebreaker. Of course 2nd seed isn't too bad either.

Florio made a good point about Dallas/Philly. If Dallas wins, they will have an unofficial bye in week 17 and can rest guys for their final regular season game. The rested Cowboys will host the loser of the week 17 “bloodbath” between Hawks and Niners

We need to take care of bidness!

Honestly, Seattle is in the enviable position of largely being insulated from what everyone else does. If Seattle can win their last two games, then we get at least the number 2 seed and a first week bye. That said, some wins are better than others.

1) Root against New Orleans. New Orleans has a tiebreak on us.
2) Root for Philadelphia. This will help our SoV should we need it against San Francisco and keep Dallas from clinching in week 16.
3) Root for the Rams (ugh, I know; I know!) That is because while we can't clinch in week 16, any San Fran loss is a good one.
4) Root for Minnesota. We have a tiebreak on Minnesota and it keeps Green Bay from clinching early. It also helps our SoV vs San Fran while at the same time hurts their SoV.
5) Root for the Giants (SoV tie break vs San Fran if needed)

My suggestions.

Edit: Corrected unfortunate spelling error that may have caused confusion.

Agree with them all. Hadn't thought about the SOV of the Eagles win as it adds to our SOV. I was more considering weakening the Niners SOV when I was looking at these.

The only thing I think is important to note, is if the Niners win on Saturday, and assuming we win on Sunday, SOV won't matter as we'll be tied going into the final week, so that may adjust the thought process some.

I am not rooting for the Packers to lose until the Saints lose.

Need that three way tiebreaker to remain intact for the Hawks to get the #1 seed.

#1 13-3 Seahawks
#2 13-3 Packers
#3 13-3 Saints
#4 Cowboys

#5 Niners
#6 Vikings

I am hoping the Saints can lose to Tenn so I then can immediately root for the Packers to lose to the Vikes, but until the Saints lose, go Pack go!

Rooting for Philly so neither them or Dallas can rest anyone week 17.

With Fade on the Pack. Rooting for them until/unless the Saints lose.

Like Fade said, I'm all in for the Pack winning to keep the three way tie potential.

Would like to see Philly beat the Cowboys for, well, lots of reasons.

Good chance the Eagles vs Cowboys game determines who wins their division and makes it to the playoffs. Both are at 7-7. Too bad it is on at the same time as the Hawks game. Week 17 Eagles face the 3-11 giants, and the Cowboys face the 3-11 Redskins. Hoping the Eagles can put an end to the Cowboys playoff hopes.

Just remember that while the Cowboys do clinch the NFC East with a win this weekend, the Eagles don't. If the Eagles win, they have to either win next week or have the Cowboys lose. The Cowboys win the tiebreak with the Eagles even if the Eagles win this weekend.
