We have a ton of RB injuries but I don't buy that it is higher than league average. NFL RBs just have really short injury prone careers these days.

Go down the injury list today and look how many RBs league wide were out today; CMC, Zeke, Mixon, Barkely, Montgomery, Mostert, Conner, Perine, Huntley, Foreman, Freeman, Ingram, Gaskin, Yeldon, Burkhead, Armstead, Mack, Williams, Prosise(!), Cohen, Pierce, Jones, Logan, Miller, Love among others. And that doesn't count the hundred guys on long-term IR who are no longer on their teams injury reports.

What we've seen with Penny is that even trying to draft a guy based on durability provides little in the way of guarantees.

Adding multiple RBs every off-season looks like a good idea for every team including ours.

Umm how many teams have a FB that is used.

Think it could be a correlation?

Which loops back to my original post................

A lot of teams seem to use their TEs in the FB role when they do use Power-I type formations. Personally, I'm just waiting for plays featuring the FB role to return to the NFL. It looks like New Mexico has the right idea: ;)

Ehhh I am kind of against wasting our valueable picks on RBs right now. We currently have a three headed monster of Carson, Penny, Hyde. We are already low on picks.

Okay, the only back that is known to as an RB1 in that group is Carson.

If/when Carson leaves, you can bet Carroll will want to draft another.

Carson is underappreciated, even here.

That people talk so flippantly about him leaving is clear evidence of that.

We saw what this team looks like without Carson.

Nowhere near as good.

Not sure how we can afford Carson, but we need him.

Carson is good. But Seattle is not going to pay him $10M a year.

Some team will pay more than Seattle.

Seattle is more likely to pay for defensive pieces than Carson right now.

Especially how bad the defense was in the first half of the year.

I personally don’t think Carson will take a “discount.”

"Scarbrough - Injured on IR"
I think his injury is just a hammy and I really liked what I saw from him. Reminded me a lot of Carson. And I'm guessing the money would be right...

If they thought Bo knows football better then Carson they would have kept him the first time, he has potential to be a productive back sure, but Carson is a bit more multidimensional.

Ok maybe tongue and cheek, but look at this.

Penny - on IR start of season Knee
Carson injured - Toe and Knee out a few games.
Scarbrough - Injured on IR
Collins - on PS now but injured Shoulder
Hyde - Injured Shoulder missed games
Dallas - Ankle, looks to be out for a while
Homer - Knee on IR
Carr - ok no impact really but on IR

Needless to say, go thru RB's a lot, I am glad we have Penny, Carson, Hyde right now at the right time with Collins able to be pulled up and now knowing the offense.

But this is why we don't cut, let go, trade our RB's, we cycle thru healthy to banged up to IR like a person who drives a MG Midget. Cool little car, when right is fun, but they always seemed to break down and not run right a lot.
I wish we can draft a guy like Derrick Henry.

That guy is a monster.

You see his stiff arms?

Sheesh!

Super grown man, right there!

The guy is just built different!

Yeah lets just draft another Derrick Henry. My guess is we let Carson walk and draft another RB but i doubt 2 of them.

They could have got him with their 1st round pick in 2016 but opted for G. Ifedi instead. He was picked in the 2nd round of that draft at #45. They had Lynch at the time and he was producing so no need for rb. Hindsight is 20/20.

Can you imagine the meltdown here if they had drafted Henry in the 1st round with Lynch here
