The Raiders looked more organized which is a good sign of competitiveness. While their defense has flaws I think there is upside to their offense as the young guys keep growing and learning.

Geno was getting some insane pockets to pass from. I don’t know how good the New England pass rush is, but those pockets looked impressive. He still threw it into double coverage with all the the time in the world and caused a pick. But still

The patriots are terrible. Who had them winning anything?

Actually lots of the national sports media are expecting the Pats to be much improved under Vrabel, and with Drake Maye having a year in the NFL under his belt.

Kyle Brandt picked them to make the playoffs. The same guy that picked the Seahawks to win the NFC West.

Yeah, because the Pats are a juggernaut. They barely beat a sh** team.

Remains to be seen which teams are shit teams and which ones are actually good. Things change a lot in the NFL from year to year.

That said, even if it turns out that the Pats suck again, barely beating a shit team is better than losing to a team decimated by injuries at home in your home opener.

Pete will get them to 7, maybe 8 wins which is great for the Raiders. Keep him out of game planning and player personnel. Leave that to others and he can stick with what he does best-- motivating guys and making them believe in themselves.

And if if was the Hawks who barely beat a shit team, you'd be one of many who say "it's just the Pats"

Own it ✌️

Tell you what. I've been posting here for 15 years. If you can find a post where I've downplayed a Seahawks win due to the opponent, I'll buy you a 6er of any beer you want. If you can't, you stop making up BS about me that is completely incorrect and untrue. Deal?

And no. I won't own it. Because it's just BS that you made up because you didn't like my post.

Pats are ass. 4-13 last season.
I agree. Some prognosticators are predicting that the Patriots are going to be good this year, simply because they hired Vrabel. Their over/under in Vegas is 8.5. (Higher than the Hawks!) I just don't see it.

The Raiders are ass as well. They were also 4-13 last year. Pete's not going to turn that around in a year. In that division, they'll be lucky to get to 6 wins this year.

I think they can reach 7 wins in that division. That division is brutal though but the Chargers do have flaws the same with the Chiefs and Broncos. Raiders offense being improved (at QB position) actually helps properly evaluate their talent on defense and their skill positions. If Raiders defense continues to look NFL average along with their offense and they can win 7-8 games this year.

Geno has two studs TEs to throw to in Bowers and Mayer, a possession WR in Myers with Tucker and Thornton Jr going over the top. And Jeanty to hand the ball to with a young promising OL. And they also have another rookie in Bech they want to involve in the gameplan too.

Ashton Jeanty had 38 yards on 19 carries for a 2.0 average yards per carry. Too early to say bust, but this is why it's risky taking a running back high in the draft.
