We hear that about QB's every single draft. No way this dude goes first round, blah blah blah.
Then.........they get drafted in the 1st round.

Just last year there were more than a few people on here claiming that there was NO WAY Penix is going first round. Some even said he would go 3rd round :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I think Brock was right about Ewers. He can throw as good a football as just about anyone but he probably isn’t a good fit for the kubiak system.

Whoah, slow down everyone. We should pass on Ewers. No need to do anything hasty like spend a high pick on our most important position. That's just crazy talk. What if he fails? No team ever gets to the sb drafting qb's. Way too risky.

What did he say about Ewers that wouldn’t make him a good fit in Kubiak‘s system?

I’ll have to go back but I think some of the rollout stuff? Although I’m not sure I fully agree? Carr put up some good numbers in that system?

Ewers can sling it for sure

I believe it was the slight frame and potential injury risk. That’s what I heard.

JS wanted to draft Russ in the 1st round, never forget that thought. Tremendous talent, but no one was taking a player like run in the first round. Had he, no one would have complained because Russ was magical those first handful of years.

Moral of the story - we just don’t know what to expect this year.

I don't know if I agree with that. I don't think you need elite speed or athleticism to run this system.

Kirk Cousins excelled in this system. Matt Ryan did too.

Speaking of Russell Wilson. I see a lot of Will Howard in Russell Wilson.

I'll have to watch some of his tape. I like the sound of that though.

In Kubiaks system it has had success with QBs of lesser ability. IMO it started with the 49ers Bill Walsh that had the West Coast offense based on a short - medium passing attack married to a successful running game. Mike Shanah an added the ZBS at Denver, Gary Kubiak added a few wrinkles and now son Kirk has added a few more

i think Ewers is the best fit for Kubiaks offense which doesn’t need a strong armed QB but one that can make quick decisions ( you want to get the ball out of the QBs hand and to the playmakers as soon as possible)

If Ewers falls to the fourth rd i would expect JS to draft him
