Trade deadline is this Tuesday. Depending on the outcome of today I think could indicate what Seattle does before the deadline is up.

If Seattle wins, I think nothing happens via trade. They won, they see what they got and hobble on the remainder of the year.

A loss? More outlandish, but a loss to the Ram (especially if it’s a bad loss), I think Seattle has a bit of a yard sale and tries to stock up on picks for the draft.

I can't imagine a loss going to a yard sale only because the whole West is bunched up. However, I think you are on to something if it is a bad loss. Maybe we start listening to phone calls a little bit more and if something is right, we go for it.

No matter what happens today I hope this team doesn't try and make a quick fix kind of deal. This team is not close. The only deals they should be looking at is if it's in the teams best interest long term.
I agree.. stop giving picks away. One player won’t fix this mess

This team does not need a quick fix player by any stretch. It's going to take smart drafting (the needed position groups) and complete reevaluation offseason which may include finding some new position coaches/coordinators.

Yeah, those “quick fixes” is what got Seattle in trouble and where Seattle is currently.

Only way a bad team becomes good is with solid all across the board drafting talent and coaching that plays to the players talents.

Until, then, all other team and player acquisition strategy is “fools gold.”

A yard sale is not going to happen. It's mm's first year, and we're 500.

My fear is that this team is going to finish at around eight wins, and John will try to convince himself (and Jody) that "we're just 1 or 2 pieces away." Rinse and repeat.

Sorry, but I disagree.

On defense, we have THE guru/genius, he will sort things out, eventually. Our own all-pro Earl Thomas found the Raven's scheme complicated and difficult to learn. If it was hard for Earl, imagine bunch of youngsters?

On offense, we need a new OC, no other way to put it, but the return of George Fant couldn't be trivialized, I am hoping Fant's indeed healthy, if so, our OL is ready to breakout.

If they lose to the rams today, then there definitely needs to be a fire sale. Get rid of any Pete guy. They may have talent but they have that lackadaisical carefree attitude when it comes to losing. No one on this team cares if they lose. They still believe they are great without showing they are great no matter how many L's they take.

How similar is our scheme to the one Wink Martindale ran with the Ravens five years ago?

I think whatever draft picks they can get they should take. Or any good offensive lineman. Almost every player should be tradeable.

I think Seattle will lose today, unfortunately.

Seattle hasn’t shown they can overcome any inconsistencies and what’s worse is Seattle gets down early and any kind of resurgence comeback is not likely with the way the offense is built.

Like I said, if they lose then we need to get rid of all the crap from this team which includes anyone from Pete's time. This should have been done after the Giants game.

Agree. This isn’t a player away team. It needs to get bet built. I mentioned in a couple different threads, this is on JS. He’s the one that needs to prove it. MM is doing what he can with an average at best roster.

I think we are a pass rushing safety who struggles in pass coverage away from seriously competing for a championship. If someone comes available, I think it’s worth a couple of firsts. It’s now or never.

I try to remain optimistic… but the Rams have our number. There’s going to be a fire sale tomorrow imo

I think we're done in trade/FA scenarios. I don't see a fire sale going on, no matter what the outcome of today's game. Sure, we probably need more than "that one guy" to get us over the top, but I think we stay the course. Major personnel changes will wait til the off season.

The players who get traded this time of year are normally impact players with high salaries whose contracts are expiring. It makes some sense for teams to trade those players if the team isn't going to be a playoff contender this year.

The Seahawks don't really have any of those players. Would there be interest in Reed, Dodson, or Williams?
