Pocic at Center

Competition WOULD prove a lot. Question is whether or not we will be afforded the opportunity for said competition. If not, I would give the edge to Finney on the basis of successful experience, in combination with what we've seen from both Pocic and Hunt. IMO that isn't even a contest.
Lewis will win out for one guard, and Iupati the left. Brown is the anchor at LT. The competition will be to see who can try to handle the vacant RT spot. I've never been a Jets fan, so what does that leave us?

It seems many assume Lewis will win starting job. In a normal off-season perhaps. However with limited preseason it might be difficult for Lewis as a rookie to be ready. What about Jemarco Jones as starting right guard to start the season?

I can't say that I liked the pick, but if memory serves Pocic went about where he was expected to go. I agree that the pick didn't work out, but it wasn't a reach.

You're right, I apologize. It was the Mccdowell pick and not Pocic.

Duane Brown, Mike Iupati, Ethan Pocic, Jemarco Jones, and Branden Shell


Here is my hoped for starting offensive line by the end of the season:

Duane Brown, Phil Haynes, Ethan Pocic, Damien Lewis, Jemarco Jones

I was watching some Chris Carson highlights on YouTube and there was a play where Pocic absolutely destroyed his assignment. I mean blocked a hole the size of the Grand Canyon...so, apparently there's at least some play out there of him dominating physically. Which shocked me.

But, yeah he should have been a center all along. When a guy is six foot seven, either you're Jonathan Ogden on the edge or you're a center. Guard I just don't see it. I don't know of many tall guards that can get under d linemen. The best guards seem to be like six three or so. So, hope he's a "technician" at center and actually used properly.
