Play calling?

I just don’t understand calling two fade routes on the 1 yard line when you not only need to catch the ball, but you need to stay in bounds. You have two very tall tight ends and DK Metcalf. You can’t find one of them over the middle from the yard line?

they were part of the routes. Geno doesn't have to throw them.

I don’t agree with fade routes from the 1 yard line. They rarely ever work.

They are some of the least creative play calls in that spot.

Part of executing a play is calling the right play for your team. Two fade routes at the one yard line is just not smart. Not only do you need to catch the ball but you need to stay in bounds. Throwing it over the middle although a little riskier you are not fighting out of bounds

How do we know those plays were supposed to be fades. Maybe that's just the way Geno threw them.
