QB1: Tom Brady
QB2: Pat Mahomes
QB3: Jalen Milroe
QB4: Josh Allen
QB5: Russell Wilson
QB6: Lamar Jackson
Jalen's got the top completion % of the group. He had better than a 2:1 Td/int throwing and 33 rush tds. He fits in statistically IMHO.
It isn't really about stats, especially in the collegiate game. Taking raw numbers doesn't really tell you anything, if anything it is disingenuous.
Some of the best passers collegiate history got drafted really late because they lacked certain traits. Think Colt McCoy and Kellen Moore -- or they played in a system that didn't necessarily translate to the NFL and inflated stats.
You want to see several things; a progression, toughness in the face of adversity and transferability in skillsets, and last but not least skillsets.
The fact of the matter here is there is only one guy in this list that is comparable to Jalen Milroe's situation and that is Josh Allen and even that isn't a one to one comparison.
The fact of the matter is Milroe went as late as he did because he was REALLY raw and he took a pretty big step backwards last season. He didn't look so great at the Senior Bowl either. As a passer he is going to need a lot of time to become NFL caliber player. In fact, that much was stated by Jalen himself in his interviews. One of the things he was quoted as saying is "how much time do you got?".
Now, where this bodes well for us is he is self aware. He is confident, but also knows he has a lot to work on. We've seen examples of a raw passer such as Jalen succeeding in Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen most recently.
I'm just glad that John Schneider seems to be taking the QB position a little more seriously. This is a pretty low percentage move any way you shake it though.
