I am going to defend Schneider, his picking of Bradford was justified, as Anthony was a physical specimen. Bradford has the height, 6'4"; weight 332 lbs, Long arms 33.5", ran 40 at 5.08 sec; benched 34 reps. He played at LSU, a SEC school, ie he played with the best of the best.

But he's too slow to react... and he's carrying about 20 lbs. of fat in his gut that isn't making him a better football player. He may have been a solid draft pick but he hasn't done anything to show that he's the MAN.

I know one thing Holmgren always wanted in his O lineman, smart intelligent and then the physicals, Chris Gray was not a physical specimen but was smart and played both, Holmgren trusted him to make Line calls even when we had to replace our Center when Gray didn't slide into the spot. Walt and Hutch were that way as well, we never found a RT that we really stuck with and that seemed to be our weakest link.

I just watched his draft presser. REALLY like this kid! Great personality, mentioned several times he can't wait to get to work and put the Seahawks logo on. If Hutch is high on this kid that's good enough for me. "A Gap Power" is his favorite play when asked by Hugh Millan. To finish the interview he was asked what he plans on doing over the next day or two before he heads to Seattle. To paraphrase, he said he was going to get started on these Bud Lights. LOL

I Absolutely love this pick! He is a huge upgrade at guard and that was the biggest need for this team.

JS doesn't have much experience picking high end IOL, so that is my only concern.

I am waaay higher on Olu then just about everyone else. The NFL takes time to learn and I think we got the right player for center. He will dominate this year!

Leave Grey at guard, let him learn and we could have another Hutchinson on our hands!

JS needs to go out and get the next best Guard for the other side of the ball and this will be an A+ draft for me.

The other interior OL players may show improvement but Zabel is clearly drafted to be the anchor on the interior of the OL which was sorely needed.

Our pick is a FIVE position player, just how Schneider likes them! Anyways, today we celebrate, the cold hard reality can wait. Olu should start worring, so do Lucas, and Bradford.

Before the draft I was thinking 18 was too high for Zabel, but with our free agency signing being n other areas we really needed one of the top options for IOL.

In mocks I had either gone for Banks at 18 to have as guard (if available which he was maybe half the time), or trade down and pick up Booker or Zabel at the end of the 1st round. If a real stud dropped to us in another position maybe take them and move 50 up to the top of the second to get Booker or Zabel if available or get Jackson as late as we think safe to take him.

The O-liners were drafted significantly earlier than most of the consensus picks at 18. Banks went at 9 and Booker at 12. If we traded down it was quite likely that Zabel would be gone and even Jackson went at 24. Trading down would like mean we missed out on all the top tier OL.

I have no idea if we tried to trade down, it was mentioned in the broadcast but our picked seemed to be made pretty early. It also appears it was a leak that we were after Zabel which is concerning but I don't think on the night it had an actual impact.

That's great to hear. I thought he was a little light for a 6'6 frame. Now if Charles Cross would do the same. If he had a better anchor he could be an elite LT.
