Don't know about anyone else, but it's pretty damn cool to see the FB position starting to make a comeback in the NFL.

He also seems like he CAN catch the ball when the need arises.

I'm a little suspect about his speed, but I can't deny I'm intrigued about the outcome of a lead blocking 270# Ouzts encountering 230# Fred Warner in the hole.

The only ILB in our division over 240# is Mack Wilson in AZ, so if Ouzts knows how to turn speed into power that could be a big problem for defenses. By comparison Kyle Juszcyk is only 235#.

Bargaining: If Ouzts had tested 25 pounds lighter as a lot of the FBs and even TEs test around 250, one might expect much better results in his overall testing numbers.

At 250, had his electronic time dash splits been in the 4.70s, 2.7s. 1.6s closer to his handheld times of 4.82, 2.81, and 1.64 at 274.

Had he added another 3-4 inches to his jumps of: 34 inch Vert, 9’11 inch Broad

Had he shaved another .2s -.3s of his 4.45 shuttle and 7.34 3cone.

Is this dude even a Seahawk right now?

Of the guys that I wanted the most or were most intriguing at FB:

TE Jackson Hawes went 173 overall,
TE Robbie Ouzts went 175 overall, and
DT J.J. Pegues went 180 overall.

So it seems Seahawks were smart to take Ouzts when they did because that is a pattern.

And we more or less heard from Kubiak how vital the FB was going to be in his running offense. Despite a plethora of names being available this off-season, all we got to show for it was being told Brady Russell was moving to the position.

Ironically, looking at a Russell vs Ouzts testing comparison reiterates my bargaining point as Ouzts outweighed Russell by 27 pounds.

Not much of a point to compare the length measures but sort of interesting tidbit in that Russell’s Arm Length is longer by 3.25. Yet, the Wingspan difference between the two is only .75. Ouzts upper body frame accounts for something like 2.5 inches between the two spans. Freakish shoulder game.

40: 4.75, 4.91
20: 2.79, 2.88
10: 1.66, 1.76

BJ: 9’09, 9’11
VJ: 34.5, 34

SH: 4.37, 4.45
3C: 7.25, 7.34

Hypothetically, if we gave Oustz .1s for every 2 pounds lost and .25 in for every 2 pounds lost and he tested at 250. His numbers would look something like this:

Splits: 4.79, 2.76, 1.64
Jumps: 37.5, 10’02
Agility: 4.33, 7.22

Still kind of borderline shabby for a TE but for a FB, it looks hell of a lot better on paper. However, at 250 he wouldn’t look nearly as intimidating.

And just to be clear I’m more bored than I am trying to make any kind of point other than Seahawks got an effin tank of a warrior that looks scary AF to compete at FB and I’m here for it.
